I think she missed one bookstudy this month, but not a TMS meeting (but I'm not completely sure). I am going to print out the letter and let her read it.

by oppgirl63 inwhen i picked my roommate up last night from her bookstudy, i asked her if they had announced the information about there being a separate watchtower for the public.
she said she had never heard of such a thing and asked where i heard that.
i told her i read it on the boards.

She got real quiet when I told her this. She doesn't really like the fact that I read this message board but I told her I was addicted to it just like she was addicted to the Watchtower LOL.. I'm kind of glad that maybe they haven't announced it yet...maybe they will this week and she'll see that I'm telling the truth. I think I'll print the copy of the letter to be read that someone else posted and let her read it tonight. Do you all think that's a good idea?

Does anybody know if Prince is an active witness?
by oppgirl63 inmy roommate and i were watching the super bowl last night and i mentioned that prince the jw was doing the halftime show.
she insisted that if he was a jw, he was either inactive or dissassociated because he was doing something that wasn't appropriate for jw's (i didn't really see anything he did that was so bad).

My roommate went to the one day assembly yesterday

10 baptized - 6 female, 4 male --- youngest 10 yrs old, oldest 66 yrs old.

I tried to ask their ages without her being too suspicious and she just said some of both. I overheard her talking to someone on the phone last night and that's when she said that the youngest was 10 and the oldest was 66. She didn't stay for the baptisms...I went by and picked her up and we went out for lunch and then I took her back for the afternoon session. The place where they met is about an hour away from home so I had to kill time all day while she attended. I went to walmart and did some shopping. She did ask me if I wanted to go in with her for the afternoon session and I said no thanks.

My roommate and I were watching TV the other night...

it was about the israeli/palestinian conflict.
i was commenting about how i would hate to live in a place like that with such violence all around.

We were watching a program called 'Blood Years' on some channel. It was about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. I was commenting about how I would hate to live in a place like that with such violence all around. She commented about how they are fighting in the place that Jesus once walked. Then she said that it was a 'sign of the times' (she says that all the time). She said it was bible prophecy. She asked me did I know what that prophecy was and I said no (I'm not a religious person). She said the prophecy was that when the 'Disgusting Thing' entered the holy land that the end was near. I didn't say anything (it's no use arguing with her) but thought to myself that they've been fighting like this for years and the end hasn't come. My question is ... What is the 'disgusting thing'? I thought it was false religion (all religions except JW) or the UN or something. The way she was talking she was saying that the disgusting thing is all the fighting and violence. I would appreciate any comments or questions I could ask her about what she said.

What's the purpose of a one day assembly?
