53Does God speak directly to GB today?
by Bambie init's been 15 years since i was df'd, but i seem to recall as a jw that the belief was that the only human after adam that jehovah spoke directly to was jesus.. my question has to do with what the org.
teaches regarding modern day communication with jehovah.
it was my understand when i was a jw, that the gb does not say that jehovah speaks directly to them.

New World Order - Illuminati vs. WT Society
by lucky inbefore i start, i just want to say that this is not any sort of conspiracy-type thread and i don't believe russell was a member of the illuminati.. i just finished reading dan brown's angels&demons, before which i hadn't even heard of the illuminati.
it struck me as curious that the "new world order" as described in the book had some similarities with the society's teachings regarding events in revelation (including the name itself).
in particular, i found it interesting that the illuminati were/are seeking to destroy religion and establish a worldwide government.

I guess I should've re-phrased my original statement to read as follows: The "smoking gun" would be a picture in some newspaper/gazette of Russell in a Mason's apron. To date, that doesn't appear to have been found.
Ianone: That book, as well as Be Wise As Serpents, is extremely difficult to find, never mind to buy cheap.

www.alibris.com has a used copy for $79.00. If it doesn't come up with a search, request it in "book fetch" and they'll get it for you. I have a copy and I must say there is quite a bit of strong CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence regarding the Russell and Masonry. However, it's just that, circumstantial. The "smoking gun" is a picture in some newspaper/gazette of Russell in a Mason's apron. But if you're content with forming an opinion on whether "it quacks like a duck", then be my guest. And as someone posted earlier on this thread, if everyone knows a secret, then evidently it's not a secret anymore.
