Just paranoid. BTW, who have you told about this site? Does anyone know that you post here? How many from the forum have you actually met? Have you received less than 10 PM's since you've been here? More than 10? Less than 50? More than a hundred?

I tried to disassociate myself and they wouldn't let me. Not my choice to make... Do they make up the rules as they go along?
They try to. Call 'em up and tell 'em you'd like 'em to come over for a chat. Hand 'em your DA letter and tell 'em to kiss off. That should do it, mate!

Your prayers and thoughts for Randy!
by Atlantis ini realize that randy watters is not the type of person to want to worry others, especially when it come to his own health.
and i also realize that randy might want to kick me in the backsides for posting this little message.
thats ok, i'll even buy him a new set of boots to kick me with, but for right now if we could take a few moments to send our prayers, thoughts, and perhaps ecards for randy's swift recovery, then i know that randy would certainly appreciate it .dear friends of randy, due to some complications from a pain medication randy was using during an attack of his crohn's disease last week, he became seriously dehydrated and was hospitalized this past thursday, april 13th.

I don't put faith in 99.9% of the 'truth about the truuf' posted here. Most of it is infantile garbage. Most of the ad hominem attacks on this board are childish and plain stupid.
So, as others have asked, why are you here? I don't think you are presently seeking truth, because if you were, the 99.9% figure would be considerably lower. Additionally, the statements you've made are not ones an open-minded JW would make. But then again, how many JW's are open-minded?

I wish they were Associate members of every political organization out there.
John 18:36 --- "My kingdom is no part of this world."
John 17:16 --- "They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world."
The following excerpt is from the True Peace and Security book (1986), page 123: So, to be among those hoping to survive when that Kingdom comes against all of its opponents, we need to recognize the hard fact that Satan dominates this world and its systems. That includes its political arrangements such as the United Nations. We need to keep free from all of these by our firm stand for Jehovah's righteous government by Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:10, 24, 31-33.

Using for example many of the scritpures and logical reasonings in "In Search of Christian Freedom" by Ray Franz will allways give you the appearance of someone who is in search of Bible truth, rather than somebody looking for an excuse. Whether you are really interested in the Bible is you own decision, but I feel that by using it wisely and with skill you will allways have the upper hand over the Elders.
drew:
Uhhhhhh...been there, done that. You never get the upper hand over the elders. Up until the early 80's, you could intelligently discuss scripture....but up to a point. Now you cannot discuss scripture unless it falls within the parameters established by the Society. For example, you gave Matthew 20:1-16 as an example of a scripture you might be "concerned about" with the accompanying question, "How then is it that only people born before a certain date will go to heaven?"
If you asked an elder that question 25 years ago, he would tell you to do some research in the Society's publications, and if you still weren't satisfied with the results, then you could write to Bethel directly and ask them. If you ask an elder that question NOW (and you're no longer a newbie JW), you will be put on a short list of people in need of watching (maybe a long list depending on the amount of dissonance in the congregation). Merely by asking that question invites closer scrutiny because you are still expressing concern, albeit scripturally, about a MAJOR doctrine of the JW's --- the 2 classes of individuals in the organization (anointed and other sheep) and the "carved in stone" date (1935) marking the time of their distinction. If the elders are "nice" about it, they'll "kindly" direct you to Chapter 97 of The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" book for the "proper" application of that scriptural text.
As the October 1, 1994 Watchtower states at the bottom of page 8, "All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the 'greatly diversified wisdom of God' can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave. ---John 6:68."

A scriptural discussion isn't going to cut it. Hit 'em hard with the info in their own publications, and stick with just a couple of issues you're concerned about. This could be your swan song so prepare yourselves, and don't expect to knock the elders out of their "race for life" with your newly found "truth". These guys are elders because they've been brainwashed more than the R&F. An example of this is found on page 345 of Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz where he tells of a Circuit Assembly meeting for elders: The District Overseer, Bart Thompson, held up a Society publication that had a green cover. He then said to the assembly of elders, "If the Society told me that this book is black instead of green, I would say, 'Y'know I could have sworn that it was green, but if the Society says it's black then it's black!'" They're willing to carry out the dictates of their Brooklyn overlords to the death...not theirs...yours. Get ready to say "bye-bye" to the Borg.

A question on " 1975 "
by The ini was reading some of the first " topics " on this db and i noticed that a few former elders and publishers .
were stumbled by this date.... i was born after 1975 and i'd really appreciate any comments from brothers and sisters who were around .
what i've noticed from personal experience is that many brothers and sisters feel that only " a few " were stumbeled .

The hard thing is ... that i don't know what are the real motives of some here..
Why don't you call Bethel and ask Ted Jaracz what the real motives were behind the big hoopla in the late 60's and early 70's about the end of 6,000 years since man's creation and now we don't hear squat.
