I heard recently that at one Sunday meeting they had 18 in attendance, but a lot were out sick...
Don't you mean "sick and tired"?
our kingdom hall was started in 1973 with only 3 families totaling 13 people.it grew to 85 members in the early 90's and that's because many were related to these 3 families.with older members dying, the young leaving when they reach 18, 5 divorces and many disfellowshipped, the congregation is down to 26 members.talk about low morale.
where is jehovah's blessing now?

Talk about hijacking a thread.
i got up this morning and turned the thermostat up and the furnace wouldn't light.
so far i haven't been able to fix it.
the gas won't come on to light it.
On a good note, I did wake up this morning.

As long as you keep hearing this, it's a plus.

"in 1975, knorr made a remarkable and candid statement to the governing body, which confirmed his growing disillusionment until his death two years later: ["]'"there are some things i know --- i know that jehovah is god, that christ jesus is his son, that he gave his life as a ransom for us, that there is a resurrection.
As the illustrious Oscar Wilde stated, "Truth, in matters of religion, is simply the opinion that has survived." And that's exactly what the "truth" has been for JW's since the days of Russell.
after a lenthy illness, 10 years in total, my mother, margaret stecko, passed away peacefully today surrounded by family.
she was 84, and leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
she was a jw but never shunned me.
My sincere condolences, Walter. Treasure your memories.
If only they (JW's) knew the truth.

she had wanted to know why i did not comment.. .
Nice job with the "pour the blood on the ground" illustration. I wouldn't make this a daily "find something wrong with the Society" deal (we know where THAT leads), but I think that by occasionally highlighting discrepancies (subtly) it will help her to begin thinking on her own.
this is from july of 2004, maybe most know about it but i thought it was interesting.

recently e-watchman started deleting/suspending (theres a difference?
) accounts of people on the e-jehovahs-witnesses.com forum left and right which he and the moderating team deemed to be discussing apostate things as in apostate in brother kings own vision, further detailed in some posts (basicly barring out discussions of jw doctrine).. i suppose my own offenses was my "staying in the org.
" thread and one that explained that one should not depend on kh's to be able of worshipping.
For a brief second that statement almost aroused my curiosity, but frankly I would rather stick a pickle fork in my left eye and use it as an silver eyelash than know the answer to that question.
I must say, you do know your silverware.

Insofar as the real Mrs. King and Mrs. Kline, I think you'd be quite surprised as to where an investigative journey would take you.
