Richie,
You are remarkably intelligent and courageous for your age! If my son turns out like that, I will be proud of him.
Whatever the outcome of the tour, you have already won in the long run.
Best wishes!

Richie,

i was thinking of dropping in some sunday morning but is that allowed or do you have to be invited?
will i have to listen to somebody put down other denominations, etc....?
what's the format?
I don't know whether the question was about the normal watchtower meeting... if it is in the morning, I guess he`s asking about the Field Service Meeting. In which, as we know, the witnesses plan their strategy for preaching door to door, for that specific day. I don`t think it will be of much use for a newcomer to just drop by, because that reunion is specific for the witnesses.
Anyway, if it`s about the normal services, the answer is above.
our witness family was obsessed with demonism.. at a very early age, i was introduced to strange stories of demonism.
a brother in the congregation had brought home a souvenier doll from a tropical island as a gift for his daughter.
the daughter would talk about how the doll would come to life, but the stories were dismissed and attributed to the child's imagination.
Just last night I watched a Harry Potter movie, with my kids (something I'd never do as a dub). Can't believe how innocent the movie is. It teaches kids not to have fear, something that the WT finds unacceptable...
my son made a point to tell me that they had what was to him a very interesting, different talk on the service meeting this week.
the presiding overseer gave a talk on the society's changed view of getting a college education.. he used the scripture which admonishes the reader to "acquire a heart of wisdom" and applied it to getting a 4 year college education for the sake of being able to support oneself at double the rate of pay with one's degree upon graduation.
this of course is only for the purpose of being able to then pioneer, only having to work a few days a week, thereby having the time for the field ministry.. such an annoying change - finally!
That must be because the "University of Awake" has cut its syllabus in half.
i have been putting my affairs in order because well you just never know what tomorrow will bring.
i have an insurance policy.
i am planning to add my nephew to it.
Why should I? Jehover will provide...
he said that if we take time to argue or disagree with someone at the door then our guardian angel is already waiting at the next door with out us.
basically what this does is train us to flee from anything that may conflict with what we are trying to teach or anything that we may believe.
to stay at the door and .
So I see this is the new way the WTS found to scare people into work: you are being watched by angels. Tricky, huh? I wonder who came up with this one... now every time you go on FS you gotta watch out for your "guardian angel"...
Mmmmm... I may be wrong, but the UNO has always been considerede the IMAGE of the beast, not the beast itself. No change here, as I see it.
I have just done my anti-witnesss homework. Where's my time slip?
hello everyone... this is my first post.
i stumbled upon this board a few hours ago, so i trolled for a bit and i like the discussions..

As far as I know, i't's a boiling pot of beliefs (or disbeliefs), but mainly ex-JWs. And you are allowed to post the KH where you attended. HOWEVER, most here would not find that advisable, because they still attend, and if they are identified, they will probably be disfellowshipped.
Welcome aboard.
hello everybody...my daughter (in-law), whyamihere/brooke, has been at the hospital all day with her little boy, 1 yr. 4 months old...who has had such a bad case of the flu that they had to hook him up to an iv for fluid.
he was sick all last week and then was getting better...then took a turn for the worse yesterday.
can't keep anything down.
Hope you have good news for us!
