Mmmmm... I may be wrong, but the UNO has always been considerede the IMAGE of the beast, not the beast itself. No change here, as I see it.

As far as I know, i't's a boiling pot of beliefs (or disbeliefs), but mainly ex-JWs. And you are allowed to post the KH where you attended. HOWEVER, most here would not find that advisable, because they still attend, and if they are identified, they will probably be disfellowshipped.
Welcome aboard.

Bible Reading Leading to More Doubt Than Faith... :(
by jeanniebeanz inok, it?s taken me longer to get my thoughts together on this than i expected, but here is the reason that i have come to have doubts in the divine nature of the bible; its failure to show that the god it describes is abiding by "his" own standards.. for example, according to 2 peter 1:20, the entire bible is inspired of god.
the main attributes of "god" are that "he" is love (1 john 4:8), "he" is just (deuteronomy 32:4), and "he" has all of the power (revelation 7:12).. with that in mind, my first problem with the bibles authenticity is that this ?loving god?
murdered the entire world of men at one point in history by drowning them.

Been there, done that. The more I read, the more I see it can't be God's inspired word. At least, not the OT. The NT is still under scrutiny, but, being based on the OT...

Nice finding, Elsewhere. And I liked this quote from the site:
"I thought [combat] would change them, because there's that saying that there are no atheists in a foxhole, and I find that's not true. Even in a battle zone there's still a fairly large number that's not practicing a faith, . . ." Army Chaplain Joe Angotti - Tikrit, Iraq

JW Mother Mourns Pope's Death
by homme perdu ini was surprised to discover how my mother felt about the passing of the pope.
she mentioned even though he is different (regarding religion) he is still human and death is always something painful.
i overheard her discussion with my grandfather and she said he did good things and jehovah can grant him resurrection.

Jeanniebeanz,
I don't know how old your hubbie is, but my gf is 32 and she was pretty able to understand the importance of JP-II... so maybe that's not the point.
Anyway, I was much shocked at the way most people in the board reacted to his death. Some seemed VERY glad about it. Which to me seems strange, coming from an ex-JW point of view. I wonder, for instance, if people will commemorate the passing of Jesse Jackson, one day. Or even someone from the GB. All those are against abortion, homossexuality, women as leaders... etc etc.
