What are your reasons for not joining another religion?
by MARTINLEYSHON ini am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.

No more religious fallacies for me. Did too much research on the origins of religion and the origins of the Bible to recognize that it's all a steaming pile of horsecrap.

Were you a BRAT during your family bible studies?
by kid-A ini was a monster!!!
lol.....i would always ask extremely difficult questions about the "troof" to my parents during our "watchtower family indoctrination hour"........ my parents often got so pissed off i would sent to my room without supper!
my favourite memories of our family watchtower studies involved.

Ahhh! This topic brings some nice memories.... While my brothers had decided that they weren't going to study the bible anymore and got out of the bOrg before they were even publishers, I stayed for my mother's sake. So while my brothers ran around like beheaded chickens, doing whatever the hell they wanted, I had to sit down and have a 2 person family study with my mom.
This one time I was so bored and frustrated with the godammed study (I was probably 13 or 14) I started grabing my head with my hair between my fingers, almost like I was about to pull my own hair. My dear mother reached out, grabbed my hair with both hands and pulled me halfway accross the table saying: "You wanna pull your hair??? There!!!".
So yeah, I really loved family study time...

This is PRICELESS!!! It looks like an info-mercial for Bananas. Guess who loves bananas? MONKEYS, bitch! Anyway, he made a good point of slipping that sucker into his hand in a very erotic fashion. And the tab on the banana it's not for opening it, it's to have someway to pull it out of your ass when you're done with it!
BTW, when I said 'priceless' I meant it's not worth two bags of shit!!!

Is there a 3rd option to explain the origin of life?
by nicolaou inthe creation / evolution debate has raged for 150 years with almost everyone coming down on one side or another (although creation has never offered an explanation for the origin of life).
my question is; 'is there another way of explaining the existence of life in the universe'?.
it's tangential and difficult to imagine but can we drag our perceptions away from the well established religious and evolutionary grooves to arrive at something .
