You're right Catchthis. Only CAs were held at the Janesville, WI assembly hall. The DAs were held in Madison, WI, but for some time they have been in Rockford, IL.
What congregation did you attend while living in WI? I live outside of Madison, WI.

Anyone heard this new talk?
by Dogpatch ini got an email today that says:hi randy, i'm from wi and i have a question that deals with the talk act wisely in a senseless world given by cos. another former brother told me that he had heard this talk given in janesville, wi.
he took notes and knows that what he had heard was not imagined.
the talk dealt w/worldly people being conned by satan and therefore "willing victims" if they were raped, etc.

I did, but I received no reply from the Society. They told the local elders
to make a call on me to discuss my letter. When I saw they had and of
course read my private letter to the Society I was furious. I felt betrayed
as this dealt w/my son's state as a disapproved associate when this was
practiced in the '80's. They were with us for awhile and the conversation
made a full circle. Same o same o. I had had it by then.

Thanks to all for your help on this subject. A special "hi" to bronzefist!
For years we had our School and Serv. Mtgs. on Fri. night, but
by popular demand (Cong. vote) we had it changed to Thurs. nights
This was because of Wisconsin's famous Friday night fish frys.
Didn't matter if it worked out better for Sat. am service. You'd make
your arrangements on Fri. night and then people would follow through
on Sat. With mtgs. on Thurs. people would cop out for Sat. Very frustrating.
Though who cares now. Again, THANKS TO ALL FOR THEIR HELP!!

Sorry about format. I'll try again to make it easier to read. Does anyone remember the practice used in the 80's of DF unbaptized ones if they were unrepentent wrong doers? I had heard that the practice was stopped because of a lawsuit on the part of a woman in NY who experienced this. Of course, they put the spin on it that it was a scriptural change and we studied it in a WT lesson.
I appreciate help with my question.

Have talked with bavman. I and my family used to be in the W. Allis cong. When our new Hall was being built, we went to the Jackson Park cong. Knew different ones there. Brunzelles, Chilstroms - Do you know of them? Then that cong. eventually split. This is kind of off the subject but does have to do w/assemblies. Is it really true that you could only use 1 piece of paper for drying your hands in the bathrooms? It sounds extreme but believable.

That is something! And we were encouraged to buy term insurance instead of whole life as this system was going to end soon. Now our term ins. is costing a fortune at our age.
