I have heard of this through PMs. To each their own and I can understand the fear-factor - we are only human. But so what? What can they do to ya? Everyone has the right to choose for themselves. My philosophy is - BRING IT ON. Juni~~~~~~~~~

Nearly a week smoke-free, and I am MOODY!!!

That's so true Sherry. PMS I remember is like going w/o a smoke. Now through menopause and just feel like I'm crazy half the time. No wonder we get a few more years tacked on our lives. We deserve it for all of this crap that we go through.
I've always said that men should have to go through a year of periods. But then again can you imagine what a mess the bathroom would be? Tampons and pads all over the place. Lovely thought. Juni

A Kind Word

i realize that everyone at some time or another gets overwhelmed.
it's how we deal with that situation that is the reason for this thread.

My Crazy Mother learns a lesson
by RichieRich inyesterday (monday) i was off school and work, and i told my mother i would go out in service.
so monday morning i got up, got dressed, drove to the hall, and there was no one there.
i fell asleep in my car while i waited, woke up to wave at a brother, then fell back asleep, and then woke up, looked around and left.

Heh Richie,
You tell your Mom that at MANY halls monday is not a good day for service. Usually ones already have studies set up for that day and the person that they want to take w/them. They don't meet at the Hall. For many too it's one day they don't have to go anywhere, but can get caught up on their other duties. If you really are serious about going out that day - monday - then I'd suggest you make plans w/someone before hand. I speak from experience. Juni

Heh Lisa!
Consider the ages of the ladies that are answering you. We are all going into, or in, or through w/menopause. You do get very emotional and a little crazy at this time in your life. Try to laugh at yourself. It helps. Forgetfulness is my biggest thing. Before I'd get all pissed off; now I try to laugh it off. If I had a drink in my hand I'd make a toast to all of us "TO BETTER DAYS AHEAD and in the meantime TOWANDA!!"
You should watch Fried Green Tomatoes. Kathy Bates in it dealing w/menopause and Jessica Tandy. Wonderful story. Juni~~~~~~~~~

That's great Dave that you are trying to quit. Take one day at a time. I've tried to quit so many times and tried replacement things like licorice and tootsie pops. I was told by a help group to dring a lot of water and have a water bottle w/you when you go out. Sucking on the straw helps mimic sucking on the cig.
I guit and then the shit hits the fan and back I go. I have an anxiety disorder also which makes it very hard to quit. I admire all who are trying to kick this awful habit. Good Luck to you!!! Juni~~~~~~~~~~

not posting so much lately
by ballistic ini haven't been posting so much recently, but it's not because i've had enough of you all.
actually it's for a good reason.. my firm enrolled me on a home study course in a field similar to my current career but slightly more advanced.. ironically, several weeks after me enrolling on the course, they announced my department is being outsourced to india and we are all to loose our jobs at the end of march.. strangely enough, i'm not too worried about that, it's happened to me 3 times before with the same firm and i always found something else.
in fact, i might not even bother.
