Last straw?
by happyout inso, my marriage has been in trouble for some time.
my husband and i have totally different goals, and ideas of "partnership".
the last few months have been even more difficult than usual, he has been out of work, and not picking up any extra load around the house.

I will try to put it off until the weekend, and maybe have someone watch my son while we talk, since I don't want him to hear any nasty things that might be said.
That would be an extremely good idea. Kids don't need to hear adult issues. Your husband is still his Dad and he loves you both.
I feel for you and it sounds like you have tried to work things out. Sounds like he has a "humility" problem.
Also, there is no excuse for him not to pick up the load around the house while you're working. I'm 57 and one lesson I've learned in life is: PEOPLE BASICALLY DON'T CHANGE
I hope you're not putting yourself in harm's way by bringing up divorce. Sounds like he also has a temper issue. Do you have family around to be a support system?

Welcome to the board! Don't think you're alone with how you feel about positive things and negative things with the org. As you continue reading posts or go back and read past posts you will see that there are many out there who share your thoughts.
Do I regret my time with the Society? Some of it. I did grow up surrounded by friendly and kind people, living a moral and troublefree youth. But I also missed out on so much of the stuff that "normal" kids are meant to do. Practically all of it, in fact. Like many others, I never got a proper education, believing the crap about the end of the world being mere years away and deciding to dedicate my life to the society. I am now paying the price for that, as I am only getting my university degree at 27. For that I hate the Society.
27 yrs. old is not old!! Just think you are wiser now - know more what you want out of life and will take your education seriously. I wish you the very best in your "new life".

Did you watch "Soap Operas" while you were a JW and was it a "sin" to watch
by booker-t ini remember that in the mid to late 1980's the wt wrote a condemning article on watching "soap operas".
i was wondering if the society felt it was a "sin" for jw's to watch soaps or was it just an admonishment.
my jw "pioneering" aunt used to love watching "all my children" and mentioned it to her pioneer partner.

I think women are more religious in order to compensate for their less spiritual nature
Ah oh! What about the Wiccan religion? We have it here in Madison, WI. The women would disagree with you. They're very heavy into nature and spirits. I'm not Wiccan, but I don't agree with ya greendawn this time.

HAS ANYONE HAD THE PLEASURE OF DRINKING BLUE MOUNTAIN COFFEE?
by juni inour son brought back some blue mountain coffee from his trip to jamaica.. it is the most delicious coffee i've ever tasted!!
we watched on the travel channel last night a documentary about jamaica - its people, music, sites, geography, and world renown coffee.
they also had mavis bank speaking about the pure coffee - you want your coffee to be backed by m.b.c.f.

Here in the States it's expensive, but not that much. I e mailed Blue Mt. site to see if I can get it locally. Though if it's that expensive - I'll probably have to settle for the norm.
Would make a nice gift item. Also he got my husband who likes Captain Morgans, some Jamaican rum. Anyone have that??

Congratulations on your inductment into the Hall of Fame.
I watched the soaps w/my mom when I was in grade school and jr. high. When I became JW, I stopped and never watched day time soaps again. To this day I don't - because I think they're so stupid. But I do like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.
