We all can relate to your story. It is a "man's world" in the organization. A lot of the men lord it over their wives. They like that submissive part!!
What is your major in college? Congratulations w/the 4.0 and being on the Dean's List. Quite an accomplishment.

i normally let people make their own decisions with a very hands off approach, but after reading the "living together in bethel" (or whatever the name of the piece of crap book is) i need to vent a bit.. anyone here is very familiar with the "quit your job or at least cut way back" talks that we were subjected to seemingly every other week.
after all, good dubz need time to prepare, attend, pioneer etc.
a good friend of mine left her job at an insurance co. to pioneer.
I know of a po who himself took overtime because he was of the age he didn't want to lose his job if he didn't, but he certainly had no problem counseling others. He most always took all the calls for Bible studies over the phone so he was out in the regular door to door very seldom.

i have just finished crisis of conscience and it moved me to write raymond franz a letter of appreciation.
does anyone know how to get a letter to him?
i think i will send it through the publishing company unless there is a better way.. everyone should read this book, it is a real eye opener.

It was truly an "eyeopener" book. I sent in for other up to date pages concerning the change of belief about "the generation that would see all of these things". Unbelievalbe what they do. And they have the audacity to berate other religons for their manmade teachings????? Those bozos.

Yeppers. They want bros on the local level to give up Sat. work to be in Field Service, cut back on hrs. at work, pioneer during their vacations, put faith in Jehovah to provide in all of this. But what do they do? Again - IT DEPENDS WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ORG.
They have volunteer help - milk it for all it's worth boys. Use 'em up and spit 'em out.

I thought they didn't go for coffee. See what I mean. Another control group. We had a Mormon church near us and it looked like JW coming out.
In field service I called on 2 Mormon elders. They were rude. Well I guess what did I expect. They do celebrate Holidays. Most don't practice the polygamy. 3 different levels to heaven?? What a bunch of poppycock!! Though, too, I've never been there (to heaven).

one of the student workers at the community college where i work is a seriously unquestioning jw; a sweet woman but totally brainwashed.. knowing she would find out soon, i took her aside and told her of my decision.

I DA myself 13 yrs. ago. Can hardly believe that much time has passed!
I guess by her comment she feels that you won't continue to be a good person when you leave. You were an asset to the cong. A good example. I heard it all. But you have to do what is best for you. I like your comment "let the shunning begin".
I was being shunned for NO REASON before I DA myself. I thought maybe they DF me w/o telling me. You go from being a good Witness to dog poop in their eyes. Sounds like her husband is reasonable.

Mormons I don't feel are as over the top as JW, but they still dictate your life. They place great emphasis on family which is good, but they still like to butt in on personal lives which is not.

well it wasn't the long awaited visit we have been looking for, but i guess they are still working on it!
my husband and i have been waiting for over 5 weeks for a reply back from the elders as to the date discrepancy of 607 (between the watchtower references and the appendix.
)we blew them away when they were here, and said they would go do the research...until today we have heard nothing from anyone.
Confidentiality....is an illusion on BOEs. The only time they can keep a secret is when it concerns them or a family member's sins that might get them removed as an elder.
That was our experience for 21 years!!
