I heard a great place to shop was www.freeminds.org/ . They've got some great reading material at The WatchTower Store, especially that new novel, In The Truth, by Paul McCool.

i love to get into the whole christmas spirit thing, but i never take it to the point of lying to or deceiving children about it.
i try to teach kids that it is the spirit of christmas that matters... then i saw this thing.
parents are actively trying to deceive their kids by offering them "proof" that santa is real.
Hello everyone!
I surely hope all of you out there are enjoying a wonderful Christmas season . . .I most certainly am, this being my favorite and most busy time of year. You can't believe how happy I am, euphoric to the point of just wanting to laugh all the time! And, by gosh ,it's only for one reason . . .and that is because I know I am making children gloriously happy, even if it's for just a few weeks out of the year . . . that makes my work all year long fill me with love and joy!
Well, just thought I'd drop a line and say hello . . .I must get back to work, little hearts are waiting.
Merry Christmas to All!
Santa
My sincere condolences.

you ever notice how people like to open up a part of themselves to the board.
i think all these many different people from different backrounds but all sharing a common bond,, to be a good thing.
i do feel a group like this would be worthy of a psychologist's attention.
Well, I know I'm in the beneficial 1/3 . . .I think . . .today . . .well,right now anyway.

this topic has been rolling around in my head for some time.
i don't expect that i'll write it perfectly as it needs to be articulated in different ways for different people...but i will do my best.
and worst of all, i am not expecting any kind of response that will satisfy me.
Sooo . . .you're a bottom!

"Then, again it happened.
The Spirit-voice of the forest came into him, creating an eternal moment in a magic land, where all life - man, animal and plant - was one. Living and dying together, forever interdependent. No wrong here. Like the joy of a sudden kiss from a shy child, the warm glow brushed deep into his heart. Then, abruptly, it was gone . . . his mind cleared and he was back."
Just thought I'd share something with you; how I feel.
.
when i attended meetings years ago, the only new faces i saw were brothers and sisters who moved to our congregation from another congregation, or children growing up.
i rarely saw new people who came because someone knocked on their door.. do you think that there is an age group more prone to become jw's?
I believe the "searching" age group is more prone to becoming JW's. To me that would mean people between the ages of 15 or so, to probably 25. Although, if one has an open and hungry mind then that age on the high end will increase . . .unfortunately.
this is a part of my collection.. the all-blue jug and the "pinch pot" below were made in a local pottery in the 1920's and are known as wesuma ware.
(weston super mare).
the others are all doulton lambeth ware from the late 1800's, well before the company came to be called royal doulton.
Yes, Mulan, you're right . . .just having a good book around and knowing that inside that book is a story is very comforting.
