  i am definitely a generalist, i have a bit of interest in 1000 things.

  this is one of the reasons i have always been so unhappy, because i have attempted to force myself to be a specialist.

  it just doesn't work.

  Thank you very much for giving blood. If there had not been blood available in 1980 when I was shot, I wouldn't be alive today. Although, I suspect that some present day JW'S would rather had me just pass away into the great unknown for then I wouldn't have become such a 'pain in the arse' to them. Life does go on . . .in one way or another !

  how many times have jw depictions of paradise shown cozy little gabled, shingled, lapsided, wood frame houses tastefully situated in front of mountain lakes without a hint of technology?

  i've lost count.

  i've always thought this picture betrays an unbelievable naivete about how technology works.

  These pictures are nothing more than tools used by the WTS to instill in the naivete' - no disrespect intended - a sense that "everything" is going to be alright if you just read this magazine . . . after all, life is hard and confusing and the WTS can make it all good while answering all your questions.

  ran across an interesting story this morning on the cbs news.com site.

  it's titled christianity condensed and it's a story about a new, shortened version of the bible.

  the title is " 100- minute bible " and has only 20,000 words and 60 pages.
