I really don't care. I spend most of my time on the beach where I don't have to play those games. However, I always have an extra cold beer in my cooler for anyone that may want to sit and chat . . . without head games.

I would be your friend, but your not important enough.
by free2beme ini love these type of people, because they are so easy to see through.
you know the type, they meet you and they're all nice and all, but because your not important enough they don't really want to be your friend.
in fact, they probably got introduced to you by someone who is important and to make that person happy they give you five minutes of conversation or maybe listen to a thought or two, and then they are off to the next person and your nothing.

Sect or cult?

the book i'm starting with is "psychodynamic perspectives on religion, sect and cult.
in the introduction they mention margaret thaler singer's definition of a destructive cult as an organization in which:a leader claims divinity or special relationship with god.

Ever feel like the Odd one out?
by Jordan inso, there's major drama going on in my family at the moment.
personally i've been trying to keep well clear of it, but there's all hell breaking loose with members of the extended family, and my mum's been called in as peace keeper.
anyway, several members of the family were discussing something, (i won't go in to details, it's not my place, and i just didn't pay that much attention) anyway, i'm going about my business in the kitchen, then i wander through to the living room, where someone mentions the possibility of a family member getting dfed, anyway, i make my first comment in a long time and say "so what?

Mmmmmm bread machines
by Lady Lee ini have a bread machine and have been experimenting with it this week.
my first breads were really dense and heavy.
they were ok but definitely not great.. so i went to the books and they said the liquids need to be lukewarm not cold from the fridge.. so after yet another white bread heavy i just tried a raisin bread recipe.. ok i'm addicted.

Lady . . .a friend of mine has one and the bread is great. I don't want to get one 'cause I'd be seriously overweight. Ain't nothin' better than fresh homemade bread ( well, I can think of one thing ).

Anyone that has the ability to gather together thousands of people, like Farahkaan did, just a few years ago in Washington D.C. with his " Million Man March", with just an announcement to "his people" to come to D.C; is a scary person. And I don't mean scary in any way except that I think this guy is powerful.
BTW, I thought it was funny when Farahkaan asked his followers at the assembly to take an oath, saying, " I . . . state your name . . .do hereby . . ." and they all said, " I, state your name, do hereby . . ." It was hilarious !

Which aspect of JWs would you like to see a documentary about?
by Gadget inif you had a chance to make a documentary about some aspect of the jws, what would ou choose?
would you talk about shunning, the blood issue, explain how its a cult, or what?
unfortunately this would only be for an 8 minute segment on a current affairs programme so i need something that'll get peoples attention and make them think without having to go too deep into the subject.. what would you choose to talk about?.

I'd like to see a documentary on their " Twelve Step " program, if you will, on how they initially bring someone into the " flock' and through their well defined indoctrination turn people into WT slaves - physically and emotionally.
