by DanTheMan ini was hoping to enjoy the championship game between the eagles and the bucs.. but no more than 5 or 10 minutes into the game, a budweiser ad comes on that uses a very obvious double entendre (a conversation between a man and woman that revolves around the very large sweatshirt she is wearing.
she makes comments like, "small ones are ok, but big ones just feel better.
" the commercial closes with her remarking about his "small hands".).

Martin Luther King was one of the most profound orators and thinkers of his generation. His eloquent appeals to the hearts and consciences of ALL Americans is an example worthy of imitiation. In spite of some of the questions concerning his moral character in some of the preceeding years, his legacy and the fruits thereof still loom large. He used his considerable talents to fight a cause that wasn't very popular and stepped in the forefront when many ppl older and wiser than he would not. That certainly says something about the man.

Our system has problems, but I'll take it over any other system in existence today. Did you know that the US government is the current longest standing system of rule on this planet? Yep. The British system is newer than ours. Same with China, Japan, Russia, all of Europe and even Ethiopia! It is still the model for all countries who wish to have a government which is a Republic.
I agree with this and mainly because the American system does give ppl the opportunity to uplift themselves and better their condition. Some more than others, but prolly better than any other country of a comparable size and population.

I like what you say here Metatrona nd it may very well be one of the intended outcomes of our current focus on this region. However, I just can't ignore the money factor involved in this. I think profits from oil have to figure very prominently in this.

Can the US police the whole world?
by JH ineven if the united states is the only superpower, can it really make war with iraq, and tackle north korea, and keep an eye on china, and other countries at the same time?
why does the us always have to take care of troubled spots all over the world by itself?
why can't japan and south korea take care of the north korean crisis?

I don't think there is any country in the world with interests as far flung as the US. It makes since that it takes a pro-active stance on the world scene. It has nothing to do with principles of freedom and justice, just money.
