yeah 200 yrs sounds a tad excessive..................but things are bigger and better in the us.....i guess it works for sentences as well.. sacramento, calif. (ap) -- a man who used tiger woods' identity to steal $17,000 worth of goods was sentenced to 200 years-to-life in prison.
anthony lemar taylor was convicted of falsely obtaining a driver's license using the name eldrick t. woods, woods' social security number and his birth date.
though he looks nothing like golf's best player, the 30-year-old taylor then used the false identification and credit cards to buy a 70-inch tv, stereos and a used luxury car between august 1998 and august 1999. .

I think the decision to give that guy 200yrs in prison was more political than anything. In California and Florida politicians are under a lot of pressure to do something about identity thieves. I personally think it sucks to give a man 200 yrs for stealing from a rich man who obvoiusly wouldn't suffer much harm from the crime. Hell, if he'd done it to one of us they probably wouldn't have even caught him by now.

This just proves that there is no love in the WTS. I mean if the org put as much effort into helping ppl with their problems as they do in trying to find out what ppl are up to, imagine the good they could accomplish.

This another example of the kind of bias that I knew the elders have against certain members of the congregations. Although I never had anything concrete to show that they allow that bias to show even in judicial matters. This bias can erupt from even the pettiest things. Sometimes those guys are just waiting to get the chance to "deal" with someone who've crossed them before.
I enjoy these immensely! Keep 'em coming!!!!!!

Most non-jw Churches believe that when we die our soul that lives inside of our bodies will either go to heaven or hell. Some others believe i places like purgatory too which is sorta like beng inbetween the two. Like not good enough for heaven, but not bad enough for hell. That's about all i know dude.

I think it's a hyberpolic(?) expression that was used to impress upon Moses the fact that God could easily aid him to overcome his difficulty speaking, whether it was from a speech impediment or just plain ol fear of speaking in public. If the intent here is to find another Bible contradiction, I would like to hear about something else. I don't put much stock in figures of speech.

This was one of the first sites I visited when i got online. The stories especially James' are truly fascinating. I also enjoyed Dale and Bette Baker's as well. I must've missed this topic when it first dropped. Anyway james' website is one of the best for ex-jw's on the web. It's expereinces are extremely detailed, but worth it.

i was wondering how revelation 19:1 is explained .
"after this i heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven ....... how do jw's explain this since they teach the great crowd is going to be on the earth.
This is from the Reasoning bk pg 168: "The "great crowd in heaven" reffered to at Rev. 19:1,6 is not the same as the "great crowd" of Rev. 7:9. The ones in heaven are not describd as being "out of all nations" or as ascribing their salvation to the Lamb; they are angels. The expression "great crowd" is used in a variety of contexts in the Bible.- Mark 5:22; 6:34; 12:37.
Hope that helps.
