I still do not understand why people who are not JW have so many tick-tack issues with those who are. These 2 people obviously are and believe they will be re-connected after the resurrection. Maybe I am too touchy with this and I appologize, but I am not sure of anything regarding religion. Maybe they are right, maybe born agains are etc etc, but I think what matter is people do the best they can to serve god regardless of any man-made religion. Heck that could be wrong too.

This really is a two way street. There are a lot of good people in the orginization that care for your well being, they are doing what in their hearts is best for you and that should be well recieved in my opinion. How can you fault anyone who is caring enough to try to look out for you. On the flip side there are a lot of mean-spirited people who just want you to confess everything so they can finally get you DF'ed.. Sad but true.
Not sure how others view this but regardless of religion even JW if people are showing love and kindness I always appriciate it and I am sure god does as well.

Jehovah Witness struck by lighning while entering a Catholic church.
by hubert inwell, it's not true yet, that i know of, but according to the beliefs and fears of j.w.
's this should be the headlines every week if it's the "truth".. i've heard stories of ex-j.w.
's believing they would be struck by lightning if they went into a catholic church.

It bothers me a little I guess... Catholic churches are spooky in my opinion. I never felt guilty going to a wedding or fueral at a different church. Maybe I never had a good "christian heart" but that was their wishes and belives not mine is the way I viewed it. I have attended mass with my gf and that is weird. You sit there for a hour and learn nothing. 90% I am wondering if the are praying or singing or what. The whole mass is really weird.

It does sound like they really care and that is a good thing. That was the orgs saving grace during my first JC which I prepared to confess my sins and say thanks but no thanks. Two elders really really did care for me and I decided to try again. It is good to know that you are cared for, and there are a lot of eldersout there who do care, and a lot who really don't.

JWs Are Sneaky Liars!
by minimus inthe truth is, as jws, we were well well trained in learning how to effectively lie.
we were taught that telling someone misinformation or outrightly saying something untrue------was not in itself a sin----if it was told to someone that had no reason to be told the truth.
for example, if an "opposer" asked us questions about "our brothers or the congregation", we could use "theocratic strategy", which is lying and tell them we know nothing that could help them out.

I was never told to lie when I was out in service ever. Maybe what we have found out we no longer believe is to be true but I was never told to lie. Then again 99% of the time I went out in service I only talked about how god and jesus loved us. Never talked about the curret watchtower, I would offer it to them but I thought it was more important for people to regoize the love God and Jesus had for us more then what the WT had to say...

Faithful "ones" that married outside the faith
by blondie inif more wives were named and described, this list might be longer.

I look at the advice of not marrying outside the faith to be more general. I think the bible examples mean not to marry people who do not believe in one God and Jesus. I do not think faith and religion can be used in the same way, example I think there is a HUGE difference in saying do not marry someone from a different religion compared to saying do not marry someone of a different faith. Of course this is just my opinion.

Dad was in the truth mom wasn't. Had to go with dad till I was like 12. Went to the memorial every year. Constantly lived with the fear that I was going to die at Armagedon. At 19 decided to try the truth out with full vigor. Married a JW, worst mistake ever (but have a great son out of the deal). Continued for a while. Stopped going, sinned, confessed sins to elders and went back with full vigor. Almost lost the most loving caring woman in the world because of it, but thought it was right. Currently in limbo land deciding what is best. I think the witnesses as all religions have faults, but still live with the fear that I am going to die if not a witness. Somedays I tell myself confess my sins and go back, others I question whether I need any relgion to be a witness of god. I also live with the fear that I am leaving the truth because I am too weak to follow all the standards needed. I struggle thinking man I am loosing out on eternal life because I am a weak individual. So that is where I am. I come on this board to read and see what is going on with others in similar situations. I feel no need to bash JW or anyone... there are a lot of good people that are JW.
If it was not for the fear of dying and lettig down Jehovah I would have to say I am happier then I have ever been in my life. I pray hard to give me strength and wisdon to do what is right and try to be the best person I ca be.

It is funny how you can read scriptures in a whole different way now. After reading that verse in Mark how is it that any JW or any religion think they will be the only ones saved. Honestly that was the hardest pill to swallow. You are telling me that a lady with all her heart and soul goes to Church every Sunday because she loves God and Jesus but will die becuase she is not a Witness. I personally feel that gods love is a lot deeper then that.
