Google LIED to us!!!!!!!
by Elsewhere infor years google's company motto has been "don't be evil".. for years they would ask "is this evil?
" before implementing a new business plan or venture.
now, all the the sudden, they have decided to renege on this promise!

Hahahaha What? That article has to be the biggest joke ever, Google is no longer a private company it is an IPO and it has to answer to its shareholders and not themselves anymore. The second they went public they became evil.... People acting shocked by this might be the most evil thing of all... hahahahha

What is your rating?
by billyboy inas a bit of a newbie , i'm interested as to the overall viewpoint of site users and spectrum of views.. using a crude gauge , where 1 = completely convinced "stepford"jw ("jhs organisation is wonderful etc") and 10 is a completely rabid "tear down the tower" apostate/ex-witness pathalogically hating the whole jw structure , where do you fit in?
(apolgies to both groups - no offense intended).. i'm about 2.5 - somewhat disillusioned , keen for reforms in certain areas but broadly accepts the teachings and loves the lifestyle.
would never leave.

Answer from the "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by Lilycurly insome of you might remember my situation....i have daed myself a while ago, and my father is the only jw in the family.
since i am very close to him and the family, he has read everything related to shunning, he even asked elders and even them are not sure.
so he wrote a big long letter to bethel to have an answer.

Not a whole lot to add, but my heart truly goes out to you. It also aches for your dad, it really does. It is obvious he loves you and he is trying to find any type of valitation not to shun you and still be in Jehovahs favor. I can not imagine his internal turmoil at this point. That reply really is an eye opener, telling people not to follow their emotions. Well holy shi* isn't their god who gave us a conscience emotions so we can act on it. If something is telling you this is wrong to do it most likely is.
Not to sound like a needle di** here but I truly hope this all works out for you and I hope your dad finds peace with whatever decision he makes... poor guy!!!

Wow this is so much easier said then done, but you really need to accept him for who he is.. Ohh god if it was only that easy huh! At 85 he has to be VERY set in his ways and is most likley very happy about it. Plus I am sure once he sees the boys you will see how happy he is and how happy the kids are to see him so let that be your joy during this trip.
The situation with your brother and dad is not that weird, there is SO much for them to lose not be a JW at this point. It is a matter of survival, yes it really is that primitive and strong. The quit, they die in their mind and that is a strong hold. Plus the family, the comfort levels etc are all huge factors.
I hope your trip goes well and you can enjoy your time with your aging dad and really enjoy his compnay.

Wow what a neat question. I have totally changed my answer like 20 times but all in all I would say 3, and I have a feeling the numbers will be on the lower end because of what most of us were taught an apostate is.
I have obsolute no ill will towards any witness. There are many who feel this is the truth and have found their peace and I am truly happy for them.
I believe that JW's as a whole truly do care about God and what he thinks and try to be good people.
I believe some of their man made rules make them no different then the organizations during Jesus's time that he was told he would bring down.
The way they shut off the world is not loving. We were taught not to associate with these people but yet Jesus went straight to them, ate with them etc, I see great contridictions.
I thank the Witnesses for giving me a new perspective on God and this world etc. I am always open to anthing that makes me think.
All in all I never really let them control my life (bad Witness, bad Witness) as much as others so my attachment is not as strong, so it is a clean easy escape for me so far.
Thanks for posting this question, I can not wait to read the replies.

because the Seahawks have the better team
based on what???? The Seahawks have played in the worst division in football, and beat a depleted Carolina team to get into the Bowl. I agree they are a good team, but if there is a bookie or line maker out there who says the Seahawks are a better team please let me know because I will honestly drop 5k to place that bet.
That is why they play the game. I made 2k on the Steeler game this weekend. So I am taking my original 1k and banking it, then betting another 1k on the Steelers. The best line I have seen was an even 3.

On a total side note has everyone else noticed that we all have shown compassion for the guy who wronged this individual!?! Not bad for a band of Pagans looking to destroy God's name and kingdom... hahahaha
Serious, I think this is very interesting and I do not frequent this board enough to say for sure, but that is a very sign of the disposition of the people who are here.

I think you are being way to sensative and are actually being rude to him. You know the amount of conrtrol this religion has on people. It is not like you guys were at a club and he dissed you. He was with his JW parents and he most likely didn't want to hear them all day long telling him what a grave sin he commited and set up an elder visit.
The guy has reached out to you on several occasions, he obviously feels horrible about it, but you are ignoring him?!?
