I see a lot more real love among parents and their children in the church I attend than I ever saw in a Kingdumb Hell. And the kids don't have to dress like 'Pee Wee Herman' to be approved by God.

Being a JW mother, I really don't understand how these women do it.
by Dragonlady76 inwhile reading through some threads, i sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if i had stayed a jw and had kids.
i now have a 23 month old son, that's very active, i can not begin to imagine what torture it would be for both of us to attend meetings or go out in field service.
i would be expected to keep him still the whole time without toys, snacks, books or any sort of distraction at all, except maybe the my book of bible stories.

Movies to make a JW THINK
by M.J. ini've heard various suggestions of movies to show a dub.. those of us with a spouse / family in the borg might find it pretty useful to rent such movies as just another way of chipping away at the indoctrination, or drawing attention to the wts control tactics.. one movie i saw which was somewhat helpful was one called "equilibrium", which was suggested on this board a while back.
its about a society that has acheived peace and order by requiring everyone to repress their emotions through sedatory drugs.
the good thing about this one was when it showed how everyone was so indoctrinated to follow the directives of the organization in charge, with every person keeping an eye on everyone else.

Reading 4 books at the moment (yes the thought of a black women reading 4 books at the same time is shocking to some on the board - I'm an abnormal black woman ) 1. Dark Tower V by Stephen King - Yes I have read the prior 4 novels in the series
2. How to Succeed in Being Yourself by Joyce Meyer - found this book at Sam's Club and it looked interesting
3. Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen - I like his TV show and the book is cool too 4. The Unmistakable Touch of Grace - Cheryl Richardson
Josie PS My daughter (abnormal black youngest that she is at 7) is reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (yes she has read the first 5 books) and The Amber Spyglass - book 3 of the Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (yes she has read the first 2 books in this trilogy). My oldest boy (11) is reading too (been hard to find something he enjoys) the third book of "A Series of Unfortunate Events - The Wide Window" by Lemony Snicket

I'm going to call my brother today. If I reach him I will tell him to take his time on sending the package. I'll let him know that Mother has called me to call him about said package. I know he will send it eventually. Then I will call my Mother and let her know that she needs to call my brother about the package. W're all adults and I'm not going to play go-between just because she doesnt have the balls to speak to my brother. And I know the other reason why she isnt speaking to my brother is she thinks she's punishing him in some way. Control control control
