I celebrate my children's birthdays because I love them. They are very important to me. I tell them so everyday and on their special day when I brought into this world out of my body.
If you don't like birthdays why talk about it?
what is the deal with people criticizing jws because they don't celebrate birthdays or christmas?.
it is as if when someone is born, from a baby, to a child, teen, adult; that one has a responsiblity to celebrate christmas (and i thought it was a free country); and others have a responsiblity to celebrate others' anniversary of one's birth.. i don't get the criticisms as if celebrating either is a great thing and the not celebrating is a bad thing.. data on star trek said that he does not understand why people celebrate their birthdays - a day one can not possibly remember.. what are you actually celebrating?
the fact that you made it another year?

hey guys!
i hope that everyone is still holding on amidst all the struggles.. i know that there are parents, older ones, middle age and younger ones here.. sooo, my question isss- what age did you start dating and what age do you truly believe people should start dating?
and why?.
Funny, too bad I didn't have any older siblings.

My oldest son started at 15 but it was highly controlled. He's eighteen now but doesn't go on many dates. He and his friends mainly hang out in groups and plan for their next comicCon. My daughter just went to a dance at her high school along with a huge group of friends last night. I've asked her and she doesn't seem to have an interest in dating anyone right now. That's fine with me. Oh she's 15.
about a month ago, i wrote a post about a sister that keeps coming to my apartment giving me watchtowers.
i called her an older sister.
she is in her late 50's.
It's ok. I think us oldsters were just teasing ya.
now that my mother has been laid to rest and i have no worries about the jw in the slightist, here is one funny..... in 2006 i obtained conservatorship over mom because she wanted to give all her money to the printing company.
she had made a pledge of sorts to the "building fund" for $5000.
well she found some of her old checks that were not attached to any account as i had opened a conservator account.
Oh to see the look on that elder's face.
i'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.
i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.
i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.
" I am gay. I know many people here aren't accepting of this, but I am not looking for your acceptance, but moreso your understanding."
Rest assured you will get understanding and acceptance here. I for one don't care if you're gay and I'm sure many here will agree.
Welcome to the board.
