  What,s a dysfunctional family in your opinion???

  just recently a family i know well (non-jw) big problems.. i thought my family (my ex and my kids) and other jw family.

  members were dysfunctional but no comparison to this family.. i have known families that became jw,s, their famliy were.

  dysfunctional but in a strange way their family became strong.. my thought , if you have one child that goes amok that ,s not.

  I like your definition Lady Lee. It's what I strive for with my own family. It's the direct opposite from how I was raised and what I continue to deal with with my parents. I hope I'm a good mom...I try to be.

  please sorry for english, i have only been learning for 18 months.

  everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".

  becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

  two big ones for me:.

  it pushes people to the edge and when they commit suicide they say: "well he wasn't really a jw anyways soit has nothing to do with us".. it pushes people so much to do more and more and more that they get depressed, and physically sick.

  If you're an introvert, you'd like to just run away and hide someplace. Even being an introvert is "wrong." I remember an article in one of the publications instructing JW's to be "happy, loving extroverts." I am an introvert and I can be just as happy and loving as anyone else, and it's none of their *%^@ business if I like to spend a lot of time alone, reading and relaxing.

  I'm an introvert Mum. I totally get what you're saying.

  My mother is an extrovert. For years she told me I didn't have a personality because I'm quiet. Being raised in the lie didn't make it any easier. I didn't want to raise my hand to answer a question during the watchtower study. I didn't want to answer a question during the book study. I hated the TMS. And I despised field service. All of it felt so wrong and intrusive and still does.

  this isn't a jw experience, but for those of you that have been following my life, i thought i'd have a drink and share this strange event in my post-jw life.. for you wonderful newbies, you can catch up on highlights of my story in the few threads i've started here.

  i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.

  i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

  No idea what KAT stands for but the currency symbol is CZK which stands for Czech Republic Koruna.

  I just looked up current currency symbols and I ddnt see a KAT symbol.

  jw apologists or anyone, convince us why you are sure that jesus appointed the watchtower society in 1919 using the bible alone.
