j.j. luna is the author of the book.. 'how to be invisible'.
.
in the book, this author refers to using jw's for your cleaning services because of their rep as being honest and maintaining your privacy.. does anyone here know this author and if so,, was this author a former or current j-dub?.
Even the WT references his book on their website.
"IN CONSTANT DEMAND"
"Whatever you are doing, work at it whole-souled as to Jehovah, and not to men," says the Bible. ( Colossians 3:23 ) Obviously, one whose work ethic is governed by this fine principle would be a sought-after employee. For that reason, J. J. Luna, in his book How to Be Invisible, advises potential employers to search out active members of certain religious groups, but he adds: "In actual practice we usually end up with [Jehovah's] Witnesses." Among the reasons he gives is that they are well-known for their honesty, and that puts them "in constant demand" in various fields
In all my years of having a housecleaning business I only had one client tell me that she especially looked for JW housecleaners and she had no idea I was one until a good year or so into our business relationship and said she wasn't surprised due to my honest work ethic.

I googled it and got this review of the book:

Hum......could that be why I had so many exclusive clients in my cleaning business? I will take to my grave some very personal information on some very high profile clients. Yeah we clean up the messes of other peoples lives and no one would ever hear about it from me. I value my clients and there trust in me to keep quiet about what goes on in their homes. What happens in their house stays in their house.
Anyway that book looks interesting if you really have a need for privacy. I tend to lead my life discreetly as possible but who knew so much about anyone is just a mouse click away especially now with the Internet.
my oldest daughter is a tough one.
she is a real sweetie with everyone else but a real kick in the pants at home.
geez, sometimes she knows exactly what buttons to push.
Hey I know how you feel, believe me I do. It's been about 20 years ago and I said the same thing to my oldest son who sounds a bit like your daughter and always knew how to push my buttons. I woke up a couple nights ago dreaming about that incident with him all those years ago and I was crying when I woke up! I felt so awful, how could I have ever said something so hateful to my son whom I love so much although at the time I could have killed him to put me outa my misery, sigh.
I think all parents loose it from time to time with our kids, we're all human and to err is human. Our stress becomes their stress and when you have a household under stress the kids pick up on it big time and poo happens. I'll tell you what I started doing after that momentous occasion at the advise of my therapist because it was something that worked so darn well it's worth passing on.
When tempers flare and what I wanted to do was lash out in the worse way I would silently count to 10 to calm myself down and then just take the little bugger in my arms and give them a big hug which usually ended up in crying for both of us but it always opened the door for quiet conversation about what was really troubling them and it was usually something way different than the situation at hand. It worked wonders, things calmed down and best of all they know you really care and you can be someone they can count on for help under stressful conditions.
I feel really bad about it and actually apologized to her for my part of it.
That is the important thing out of all this. Don't beat yourself up over this, you did something you felt was wrong and you admitted it and apologized so don't go further on the guilt trip, that causes depression. Just move on and try my suggestion next time and see how it works for you and her, I'm sure you'll be amazed at the results I know I was.
Don't you hate complicating tough issues with personal failings?
Nicely put Unconfused!
Hang in there, if it's any comfort some day she'll be asking you how in the world you coped when she has her own kids! I got this just today from my oldest daughter! LOL It's all good and they do grow up and move away eventually, yay!
share your desktop with us!.
its fairly simple to do.
on your keyboard should be a button that says prtscn, printscreen or something similar on it right up in the top right corner.
I looked through this entire thread to see if anyone told how to do a screen shot, I used to know how but forgot so here is the picture I have on my desktop without all those icons of course, LOL.
BTW I love everyone elses especially all the cute kiddos!
i love watching boxing, especially the heavyweights and middleweights.
i also enjoy watching and playing tennis.
I love to watch both baseball and football during the playoffs.
I would rather play basketball than watch it. Same with bowling.
I like to play volleyball, badminton and pool. I'm lousy at pool though can't see the ball too crossed-eyed, darn!
Oh and I love to watch bike racing events like the Tour de France my favorite!
I wish they would bring back televised roller skating that is a hoot to watch and I used to love to roller skate but now I would be afraid to too darn old!
it's a damp spring day here.
all the bugs are coming out.
this morning i went to do some laundry and there was the creepiest bug i have ever seen before in the laundry tub!
I hate bugs! I always smush them! Always!
Hubby catches them with his bare hands and puts them outside unless they are the plant eating kind then he will flush them down the toliet. I smush! Something about bug guts that makes me feel safer, course I hate cleaning up the guts, ewel .
for company, i'll fix a tender, flaky crust and bake a creamy, cheesy quiche with either, bacon, canadian bacon or ham and top it with diced tomatoes w/green chilies and sour cream.. but just by myself, i lurv to fix hot buttered toast, topped with egg over easy and tomatoes w/green chilies...yummy!.
what's your fav?.
frannie.
I've cooked eggs in the microwave before, but have to keep stopping the nuking to stir them a coupla times during the process.
The way I do it Frannie is really easy and only takes 45 seconds in the micro. I use a Corel™ cereal bowl and scramble the egg in it then put it in the microwave oven for 45 seconds and it's done! Very easy and done perfectly every time.
The breakfast pizza is easy too. You use hash brown potatoes for the crust and fry them up both sides but when you turn them the first time you top them with four scrambled eggs then shreaded cheese of your choice and any kind of meat you like. I usually use cut up Jimmy Dean™ sausage links. Put a lid on the pan turn down the heat to medium and in about 6 minutes you have a done meal. I serve it with toast and jelly and maybe some orange juice. Yum!

This morning I fixed for hubby and myself an eggo-bagel. I love these when I'm in a hurry and hubby will always eat his breakfast even if it's on his drive to work when I take the time to fix him one. Today's was on an everything bagel with ham, egg and Swiss cheese I buttered the toasted bagel, microwaved the egg in a cereal bowl makes perfect round egg topped it with ham and cheese and a nice spread of sweet mustard, yum!
My all time favorite breakfast which I occasionally will fix on the weekends is pancakes with syrup, hash brown potatoes and Jimmy Dean's maple sausage links and scrambled eggs.
I love to fix breakfast for dinner too, one of my favorites dinners!
Oh I have a great recipe for breakfast pizza, it's quick and easy makes a good dinner too.
it's really great to be back on here, i've missed you all so much.
i'm home for the weekend, and feeling a lot better than i was earlier in the week.
i picked up an infection and felt really awful for a day or two, but it's ok now.
Hi Linda!
Good to hear from you, you've been on my mind a lot and I'm sending positive healing vibes your way often!
Big hugs!
