IF.....
by AK - Jeff inthe jw's brought doctrine into a form you could tolerate, reformed the religion to allow better tolerance of those who disagree, and made prolific apology to those whom it has hurt [i know that some have been hurt that are not any longer with us, etc.
that's not my point.
], would you forgive them, and if you still believe in god, would you consider going back?

Italian JWs growing up with the belt! Can you relate?
by Frank.L indid anyone have the same "experiences" growing up as some of us italians/europeans did?...of course our culture plays a part of who we have become in our later years and how we treat our children but pointedly im wondering if anyone raised as a jehovahs witness regularly was hit, smacked, beaten, smashed, in inventive ways that begged u to laugh .....well what i mean is that the intresting thing that stands out is that growing up in this kind of enviornment made you laugh your ass off whenever we discussed these things privately as if they were normal.
and they were so not normal.
and did anyone go through the same normal "discipline".?

I think there should have been 7 floors with floor # 6 being:
These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak are filthy rich and very generous.
Because I'm very easy to please I would have stopped there!

THE HUSBAND STOREA store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:
You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building.
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.
She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
"That's nice", she thinks, "but I want more."
So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework
"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. PLEASE NOTE:
To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.
The first floor has wives that love sex.
The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited -

Hello everybody
by JulieM inhi everybody, my name is julie, and this is my first post.. i'm a third generation jw, or at least i was until a two weeks ago, when i was announced as no longer a jw.
i'm really happy about that, ecstatic in fact, although i'd been a jw all my life, and i'm 37 now.
i could have disassociated like my friends, but i couldn't be bothered to play their chikdish game, so i let them do it for me.

The best revenge
by Junction-Guy inso are you happier outside the jw's than inside?.
do you like having freedom, or are circumstances too overwhelming to appreciate it now?
is happiness in small things possible, even when we're still in the process of "getting it all together"?

I've never understood this happiness everyone is always seeking like the holy grail or some kind of nirvana. I've come to the conclusion it's not an entitlement but it's some thing you work at achieving. I've also concluded it's not a feeling you have ALL THE TIME but that it comes and goes like most of the other feelings we have depending on our circumstance's think it's also a matter of ones perspective on life sorta like the glass half full.
However that said I am struggling with this too J-Guy there was a time not so long ago I felt reasonably happy with my life regardless of the crapy things that happened from time to time. Over all I was happy, lately that is not the case and I can't figure it out if all the crapy stuff has just caught up with me and over taken me or and this is my biggest concern is that my depression is coming back. I just can't seem to get my "happy" back like I had before. I know I said it required work......I'm just so darn tired.

Ashamed of my dear father 12 days ago...first time ever.
by oompa ini don't remember if i have posted about this form some obvious reasons.
my mom and dad were helping me with an outdoor project at home, and my df's son stopped by.
i knew he was in the area and told him to stop by.

My son was also DF'ed and I never shunned him, ever! I even told his dad if he wanted to refuse his own flesh and blood into our house HE could pack his bags and leave because that is my son and he stays! Good grief he was barely able to be on his own and his dad wanted to take the hard line, no way 'jose not in my house!
Once my Mother (die-hard Dub) was at our house visiting when my son came home, he didn't see his Grandmother right away and just started eating something. She saw him in the kitchen and came and got me all worried about greeting him. I laughed and said "he's your Grandson not Satan the Devil, go give him a hug everyone can use a hug." Oh man she about peed her pants! That was the last time she came over without clearing it first that he wouldn't be there.......I got sick of her doing that and told her my son is always welcomed in my home and if she had a problem with seeing him there we had best always go to her house there she can control who comes in and who doesn't.
Honestly my son being DF'ed was the best thing that happened to our family, it opened all of our eyes to the hateful ways of the WTS. We are all out except for my Mom and his Dad and a few distant relatives.
I hope time mends the rift in your family it did in ours now nearly 12 years later they quit expecting my son to ever be a part of the WTS again. Now I just wish they would give up on me!

I love the show, but I am not able to watch it this season. I had to put my dog to sleep a few months ago. The big meerkat eyes reminds me of his gorgeous big eyes...too sad.
Awe JT sorry to hear that, I hope you recover from your grief soon.
