yesterday was my son turned 9 years old.
he's going to have his birthday party this saturday but we took him out last night for his birthday dinner (he chose red lobster).
he had been dying to see what we had bought him for his birthday and begged (with those big puss n boots eyes) to open "just one" present yesterday morning.
Big Tex,
Not only have you created memories for yourself, but you've created memories for Jackson. Some of MY best memories are from before my dad became a JW. I remember getting a bike one year for a birthday. I remember he threw me a surprise party another year. I remember the Korean family that owned the Dairy Queen brought the cake. Nothing better than an ice cream cake when you're six!
You're a great dad Chris. One day, your adult children will tell you that.

i went down to the local 7/11 a few miles from my house to by some 7/11 stuff.
as i was standing at the counter i glanced out at my car to see a little cheerleader wannabe girl leaning against it.
she was drinking a slushy type drink talking to her bubble gum little chicky buddies in her mom's new lincoln navigator next to my car.
LOL - no I didn't realize that. I guess that's better than what happened to the last guy I dated - I think he went gay after he dated me. See?! It could be worse - you could have a crush on Valis now!
i have had this nickname online for over five years.
when i signed up at this discussion board i really was looking for fellow jw believers, looking for some new freinds.
what i found was something so much better.
Welcome purplesofa! You'll learn a lot here and make some friends. Hope you're visit is good.
I know a photographer here in Dallas that goes by Purple. Seriously, I think her real name is Raina. LOL

LMAO! Dave, you're one person that I'd really love to meet in person. I love your sense of humor. I promise not to put my butt on anything that belongs to you.
dear all,.
it's a little over a year now (2 years last february) that my family and i left watchtower and i can't begin to tell you how wonderful life has been!.
ok, i'm saddled with a serious illness at present and enough has been said about it, but i'd just like to focus on how much a family can really grow once it has been freed from watchtower's yoke.
((((((Ian, Claire, Karl, and Dominic))))))
You all have an amazing blessing - a truly loving family! I didn't think those really existed until AFTER I escaped the Watchtower. I now have a wonderful life with a wonderful husband, home, animals, and friends. What more could we want in this little life?
But Ian, just so you know...it is YOU who has blessed us with your insights and marvelous outlook. I appreciate it more than I could say. And you are in my thoughts more than you realize. We love your family very much!
xoxoxo,

valis, nina, bigtex etc: i am going to be in dallas at the gaylord.
april 14,15,16 at the phi theta kappa(honor society for college) international convention.
i am hoping to get the itenarary so i can see if i have some free time to meet with you all.
(((((Sheila)))))) Yay! The Gaylord is absolutely stunning - you'll love it! I'm shooting a wedding there in September and can't wait! Right now during the day, I work at a tax firm, so I won't be able to do anything until the evening of April 15 or on the 16th, but I would love to get together for dinner and drinks while you're in town. Neil will be in Baton Rouge for a relative's wedding, so I'll be flying solo that weekend anyway.
and sending the love of mrs ozzie and myself in your difficult time.
any news?

I'm so sorry to hear about your momma. I can't imagine how you could ever be prepared for this. You are in our prayers.
Love,
Andi and Neil
i was in a deposition today and one of the parties told us about her friend who was a heavy user of soft drinks.
for years she drank around five to seven a day.
she had been having bone pain and went to the doctor and was told "your bones have the consistency of lace.
I had always been a big Coke drinker. I slowed down about a year or so ago and impressed with how much better I feel. When I have a coffee or coke now, it makes me shaky. I'd rather have decaf tea or lemon water now. Being tiny and Asian, I already have a larger chance of getting osteoporosis anyways - don't want to increase the odds if I don't have to.
so, in june, i will be officially done with my schooling.
i realized today that i will not graduate this semester because i needed 2 more art classes to fullfill my studio art minor.
well i immediately signed up for two "boot camp" classes in the summer, mtwthf classes from morning till afternoon...for a full month!
The world is your oyster hun...you have a million things to choose from. What is your dream job? Pursue it! I haven't done that...I've pursued money. And here I am at 33 trying to make a MAJOR career change, which means taking a MAJOR cut in pay to do what I want. If I could go back to your age, I would do things differently career-wise. Look for your dream job and don't take no for an answer. Look...keep looking until someone says yes.
Just my two cents,
Andi
