I don't know where you're from or how many congregations you've attended, but I was a JW long enough to know that not ALL congregations do or say or act the same way. No matter what the Watchtower says, they do/say their own thing, but preach out of the sides of their mouths another. For instance, in Hawaii, the brothers were very loving and really cared for the flock. They understood what it meant to forgive. In Missouri and Kansas it wasn't like that. They were very judgmental and quick to anger and dismiss anyone that wasn't a full-time pioneer or elder.
Isn't it possible that what you think is "wrong" information is actually "right" information based on that person's geography? The WTS preaches that they ALL teach the same thing, no matter where in the world you might be. Just because we all read the same issue of the Watchtower on a specific Sunday, doesn't mean all the congregational leaders preached the same thing.

Getting wedding invitations from people who really don't know you or care

sometimes they got cancellations and had to fill a number or they want $$.
maybe you went because it "wouldn't look good" if you didn't.

So the question is: why invite me to a wedding when you really don't want to know me?
Having gotten married just three years ago, I struggled with who to have on our invitation list. It was hard because I knew we had a very tight limit as to how many we could invite. Some invitations were sent to friends we really knew would NOT come, but wanted to let them know we were getting married. They were happy to have been notified. Other invitations were sent to people we knew wouldn't come, but would get offended if we didn't at least send an invitation. It's a hard balancing act...especially when you are dealing with a future mother-in-law's guest list. Many invitations we sent out for my husband's side of the family was not by my choice, but by hers. So I didn't have a say. LOL
Just because some brides have the tasteless idea of inviting a million people just so they can get a million gifts, doesn't mean all brides do.

I wish we could have been there. I had a photoshoot that afternoon as well as plans with Mozz. We scheduled them that day because we knew the fish fry was on Saturday. LOL I'm glad y'all had fun. Next time, we'll have to have one at our place.
