Andi -- YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!
(((((Marla)))))) I haven't done one thing that I know you wouldn't do yourself. I'm honored to serve where I can. I'm glad you "happened" upon Dallas when you decided to flee the storm.
some of you may have read my comments on this thread:.

anything in the field of forensic science.
it just fascinates me how crimes are solved.. so, how about you?.

I'd be a photographer. Oh wait...I am a photographer!
I'd love to own my own studio though and not have to worry about money.
jehovah's witnesses are the "rightest" people on earth.
they never admit to mistakes.
and if they do, more often than not, obvious sincerity is lacking.
That's the British trait ... someone can walk right into us and hat's the first thing we say? "Oh, I'm sorry". We're just too polite for our own good.
Simon, I thought you didn't like being English. Are you still trying to move to Canada?
i went to a born-again christian church wedding a couple of weeks ago.
in so many ways it was like a kingdum hall.... and the person conducting the wedding was jesus this jesus that..... i just want to roll my eyes.. i think its because i been preached 'at' so much in my life as a dub i dont want to hear it anymore.
maybe im getting my head round the idea that beliefs and worship are best kept to yourself..... anyone else feel like this?
Let me get this right - you went to a place of worship and are now complaining that you heard someone talk about God?Ermmmm.........
Doh!
LOL! That was my thought. I'm never going to push my beliefs on you, but come on...this is common sense. If you don't like hearing about God or Jesus, why on earth are you going to church? I'm sorry...I don't mean to be insensitive. It just seems funny to me!
i don't actually have anything to add to this.
but - isn't there anyplace in your life that you love this dearly?.
gently feral .
But reality won't make exception for them either...At what point do they accept the reality that their "reality" is over...and it's time to start surviving and looking at your options.
Good grief...it's been slightly over a week since they got hit. Let the reality sink in. You know many of those people are asking, "Where will I go?" Be somewhere like Dallas and homeless, where NOTHING is familiar or be there and homeless where at least there is some familiarity?
I'm just trying to be compassionate and let everyone move at their own pace.
i have never done a 60 month loan and i have sworn i never would... but with how much cars are costing these days i'm wondering if i will have to do a 60 month loan on my next car.
that is five frigg'in years!
i paid cash for my last car ($4,500 - 1999 ford contour se, used) so i had no payments to make.
I've only done 60 month loans, but I've only owned two cars. My second loan will be paid off in June on my Eclipse. I haven't had any issues and no regrets. I get great gas mileage (4 cylinder) and Don Herring Mitsubishi was VERY good to me. They have a great service department too. Both Mozz and I have Mitsubishis. Good cars.
i don't actually have anything to add to this.

upside/down,
On the one hand so many here say what a hell hole of poverty NO is...how disadvantaged etc...
Yet people...WANT to stay...even while it's flooded!
If this isn't you're chance to get outta Dodge and start over...what is?
I would imagine if anyone would understand the plight of these individuals, it would be exJWs. How many JWs do you know that probably have an inkling that there is something desperately wrong with the WTS. And yet they stay. Why? They know it's not God's earthly organization, or at the very least, they see major issues within. But they don't leave. Why? For a million reasons I'm sure.
Because it's all they've known.
Because they're fearful of what's "out there".
Because it feels safer to stay in and be "comfortable" with the current surroundings.
Because they have hope that a greater good will come out of staying.
It could be one or all of the above. It's the same with some of the residents of NO. Some of these families go back 4 and 5 generations. Even in poverty, it's all they've known. Looking at it that way, do you necessarily blame them?
people remembered me from last sunday and actually made an effort to fellowship with me (even though i bolted for the door after the closing prayer).
everyone seems very warm and genuine.
i'm looking forward to going again next sunday.
defd,
If your child called you "Defd" (or whatever your name is) rather than call you "father", "dad", or "daddy", would that bother you? I am God's child. He is not a neighbor that I call by a first name. I call him Father, because I feel closer to him than just someone I'd call by a first name.
Andi
following on from some other threads, i thought i'd start a whinge thread.
there are some rules, though.
only one whinge per person!
I've got a tummy ache this morning. I think I accidentaly ate something with gluten the last day or so.

billy who do they pray to with you?
We pray to our Heavenly Father. God. Jehovah. I do not call him Jehovah any longer as he is not some impersonal being in heaven anymore. He is my Father...thus I call Him that.
