SO...what do you all think???

some of you know there was a big blow up with my family at thanksgiving because i started a thread about it.

others that don't know...please look up my past post if you're curious.

but in brief my older brother had a major anger tantrum (shoving me because i disagreed with him, punching the wall)....nothing new, he's been having a lot of these fits over the past 2 years.

We just recently got a new puppy. He's 12 months old and pretty big, but still acts like a puppy. Very playful, chews a lot, chases, etc. When he plays with us, he tries to bite us. Mostly typical puppy mouthing (love bites), but sometimes it really hurts. We've learned to just get up and walk away. Just after two weeks of this, he's realizing that when he makes contact with his teeth, he doesn't have anyone to play with. So the last few days he's really tapered off with the love bites. I promise it works!

I hate to equate your brother to a dog, but if you don't play his mind games, he will eventually stop. If he realizes that he can't ever get a reaction from you, then he'll quit. It will take lots of patience and time, but eventually he'll realize he looks like the idiot, not you. When other people witness your reaction, it might spur them to do the similar thing. With nobody in the family playing his head games, he'll straighten up.

dear all,.

most of you will be aware by now of my story regarding watchtower and, after exiting, finding i had an even greater battle to contend with - the fight against cancer!

throughout this battle i have been helped by many people here.

A Knock came at the door, a Pentecostal girl that helped me with the group when I held it( she says she is Pentecostal I think she is Christian---) with a Ponsettia & a card ----in the card was a check for $200.00 She said the LORD had told her to give me it last week!!!! Guess I still have some one looking after me too...

We all look after each other! It is in our generosity that God uses us, whether it be money or love. I firmly believe that what we give, will return to us ten times over.

What's the key to regular sex in a long-term relationship?

I think it comes down to two things:

One, actually liking the person. I've had great sex with men that I didn't particularly like. It was great, but not for long. I truly enjoy my husband's friendship. He is funny, intelligent, kind, and doting. When all the clothes are on and we're sitting in the cold house in front of the tele, it's so wonderful to just BE. If you can enjoy those quiet moments with the person, the great sex just comes a lot easier.

Two, making it a priority. Sometimes Life can just get too busy. Work, classes, cleaning the home, training the dog, caring for children. If you aren't careful, sex goes by the wayside because you're too tired to do anything. But scheduling time away from everything is really the only way you'll focus on it to do it. It may sound unromantic to schedule sex, but it doesn't have to be just sex. Start off with a quiet dinner away from the kids or the house and turn off the tele. Cuddle and talk, share your day, while you're wearing jammies or nothing at all. You made it a priority when you were first together, why not do it again?

I agree with both of you on so many levels. I am yet just a child learning about my spirituality. I do not believe that one must hold a title of "Christian" to have salvation. That was something I struggled with even as a JW. What about all those people in Myanmar and India that never even heard the name of Christ? Were they to die and never have salvation? As a child that thought horrified me. If that is how God was, then I wanted no part of him. The one thing I do believe is that God meets us where we are. And for us to say that he only comes to humans in one way (Buddha or Christ or by any other belief) is a comment based on arrogance and lack of true understanding of what Love is. I think most people when they go to heaven (or whatever your belief calls the afterlife), will be completely taken back by who they see there. And who they don't see there.

It is older, wiser, more mature people like the two of you, that I learn from. I feel like a student, sitting at your feet, just taking it in, listening and watching. God has spoken to me through the voices of my loved ones many times in my life. He is not here in person, but he is...in you! Please keep sharing, speaking, teaching to us on this board and in real life. There are those of us that listen!

I don't know the reputation of his photographer or details of his package, but a $400 senior package is about average where I come from. Richie, if you lived in Dallas, I'd do them for you at cost.

((((Yizu)))) Congrats on the engagement! I'm sure you're super excited about making it official. My dad remarried when I was almost 10 and it was a very hard transition. It takes a special person to be a step-parent. I put my SM through hell. But she always stayed consistent and always loved me. Even after my DFing she still continues to stay in touch with me, even when my dad doesn't. All that to say, I second Frannie's comment about being gentle. Firm but gentle. Eventually your SD will see what a great guy you are!

BIG NEWS Email Clearing House

consider me a player.

i am interested in supporting the "big news" news blitz by coordinating a clearing house of jw email addresses.

most of us have a handful of jw email contacts, others may have whole address books filled of them.

That being said, I'd certainly love to forward my JW boyfriend's email address to this effort, along with his mother's and two sisters' email addresses, too, just for good measure. I'm a little wary about that, though, because I get the feeling that he'd probably know that it was me that set the whole thing up for him, and that definitely wouldn't be a good thing.

Maybe you could put your email on the list and say you got the email too? That way you're another "victim" and can't be accused.

i got a knock on the door a few days ago from my dad.

he asked to come in and talk.

mind you it had just snowed so it was cold as all get out outside.

Sadly his absence has revealed my own childish hope that everything will come full circle to my benefit/happiness. It makes me realize that again, I am alone in the world. When I think about it, there is a hollowing pain that I cannot describe to you with all of my vocabulary. It is all sorts sobering, chilling and completely frightening. It is my hope that this means that I simply have inward work to do. If it means that then eventually, I'll be okay. If it does not then my happiness is more subject to other people than I want it to be.

((((CHL)))) I understand that hollowing pain. I have some pretty amazing in-laws that I would give my life for. I love them that much and without a doubt in my soul, I know they love me too. But they will never be MY parents. There is nothing that will ever fill that hole. In that aspect I feel very alone, even in the midst of the unconditional love that my husband's family has for me. I also have a wonderful husband that treats me like a Queen. But that is a different love that will never allow me to be a "little girl" in need of her daddy. The only pain-managing solution for me is to have my family entirely OUT of my life. Out of site, out of mind. It is when I have little to no contact that I heal and grow the fastest and most.
