anyway, we had a new sister move into our territory and lo and behold claims she's of the anointed.
she was all of 40 years old, 350 pounds, friendly, feels that the friends should treat her with special reverence "since she's one of christ's brothers" (wouldn't that be sisters?).
Hahahahaha!

PS: I'm sure she didn't want to get any germs from the cup, thus the straw. Cuz we know Jehovah would love her to be in heaven, but not get any germs. Heehee!

being a sociable sort of animal i enjoy the cut and thrust of lively pub banter in the mid-evening.
however, there are only about 3 or 4 of us who take part in on-line discussion forums such as this.. time and again, because it is known that i take part in this forum, i am asked the same sort of question: .
"do americans in general realise that the uk is totally 100% behind them in this present crisis, not just the politicians, but the grass roots of the country, do they know that we feel outraged at the wtc attack, as outraged as if it had been on london?".

Thank you for telling us! I think it really hit me that Britain was behind us when they played our national anthem over the tv. THAT really hit my heart and made me realize that this world was going to pull through this. Tell your pub friends that yes we know. Do they know how 100% thankful we are? Not just our government, but the grass roots of our country? If not, please tell them. The grief is a little less sharp when we know others are helping us carry it.

hi..... last night i read a post by stevieb1 entitled "my personal turmoil".
i went to sleep thinking about his/her experience and appreciating the insightful responses to it, in particular neonmadman's.
like he, i found almost instantaneous relief from incapacitating depression when i extricated myself from the stronghold that the borg had on me.

Wow. This hit home for me. You know how they say that many times women jump from one abusive relationship to another because it's what they know? After I was DFed I entered into an extremely abusive relationship with a cocaine addict. It never dawned on me that it might have been because it was comfortable and familiar to me. But your description of this is right on the money. It also explains to me why my parents are so entrenched in this cult. It's familiar territory.

jws have been excited about events last week.
their sensibilities have been fine-tuned to expect armageddon at any moment, and last week's events seem extreme enough to lead to one thing after another.. i think these events will hurt the wts in the long run.
consider the typical long-term jw.
it could be the start of something...it may be not...

Could there perhaps be a language barrier issue here? If he's from Brazil and English is a second language to him then maybe he just got the word 'thrilled' wrong?
I ask because I've heard so many stories of JW missionaries that used the wrong words out in the field work. "Jesus said, 'Feed my little sheep'" versus "Jesus said, 'Eat my little sheep'". Heehee! (((())))

i think the fact that some jw's are gleeful over tuesday's tragic events, is sick.
if it is true that the wts "closed their shades" to focus on work on tuesday, i feel even more sick.
how anybody, regardless of religion, could turn away from the sadness and grief of this tragedy, is beyond my comprehension.

I am so sorry to hear what happened with your father. It took courage to do what you did. And now you know that you've done (again!) what you could do to solve the problem. I'm proud of you! I know how difficult it is. My parents have said the same thing to me about my life. Anytime anything goes wrong it's because I've left the Organization. (sigh) Take comfort in knowing that others here love you and truly understand the hardship. We are beside you all the way!
