i've had bhp for several years, but last week it became so enlarged i couldn't pee.
the urologist let me see if it would shrink by leaving me on catheterization for several days and remove it to see if i could pee, no luck.
today he looked at my bladder through my penis.

Once you find a good surgeon, I'm sure you'll be fine. Nowadays many men are experiencing this. But I would make sure that all the alternatives are explored before you get someone to cut into you. There are tons of different meds for BHP out there. If one doesn't work, perhaps another?

Maybe you could freeze a loaf, and just take a slice out for special occasions?This way, it won't go bad on you. (I'm serious)
No, I don't mean it goes bad. I mean, literally, there are only 15 or 16 tiny slices when I get the whole loaf. That's all there is. But I don't complain. It's good stuff compared to some of the cheaper cardboard like breads that are out there. I swear some of it's attic insulation.

Thank you for sharing your laulau secret! It sounds fabulous! I just need to start searching where I can get taro leaves here in the Dallas area. We have a large Asian community - I'm bound to find them somewhere. And sushi rice with spam? Yum! I remember that as a comfort food from when I was a child. The rice was shaped into little triangles with fried spam and wrapped in seaweed. It was called musubi and it was a staple of the pioneer's diet in Hawaii! Except now I'm wondering if Spam is GF? *running off to see the ingredients list*

That's a great story - thanks for bringing it to my attention. The picture shows the Whole Foods GF product line, which is REALLY good. They have some of the best stuff I've tasted. The peanut butter cookies shown on the lower right of the picture are AWESOME! Except their loaves of bread run $5.99 to $6.99 a loaf...not the $3.99 that the article says. Usually you only get 15 or 16 tiny little slices out of it too. Better than not eating bread though I guess.

Yes, I drink beer on occasion. And yes, I suffer. I usually pay for it for a few days afterwards: muscle/join pain, grogginess, general feeling of hung over/unwell. My biggest symptom is major moodiness. For some reason cheating really jacks with my chemistry. So it has to be a really strong craving when I give in: apostofests. When I want to imbibe, I try to stick to potato vodka, tequila, and rum or wine. Love wine!
Where are you located? I am in Dallas, Texas, so I have access to Whole Foods Markets. I think they're a national chain now though. You cn look them up at www.wholefoods.com. They have their own line of GF bakery items that are the best I've ever found. Blueberry muffins tastes just as good as the kind you'd get at Starbucks. Peanut butter cookies that rival my grandmothers. They also have some breads that are pretty good, but only if toasted. (I have yet to find a GF bread that is good without being toasted.) Some other items I've discovered that are really good:
As for salad dressing, I usually try to stick to oil and vinegar with my own spices/herbs. Better than anything I've had in a jar. I have discovered another site I'll PM to you later. (At work right now and can't find it.) I've heard they even have donuts there!

I have discovered in the last year that I am also Lactose Intolerant. Within an hour of eating something with dairy I regret it. Ever see Dumb and Dumber? Since I have eliminated gluten and dairy from my diet, I haven't struggled with migraines nearly as much. I used to get them at least once a month, sometimes as long as 10 or 12 days. NOTHING worked to ease the pain back then. But now it's just on occasion and I can usually pin point what caused it.
Just last night I bought "Tofutti's Better Than Cream Cheese" at the health food store. I haven't tried it, but have heard it's really good. Is that what you use? Never thought about using it in mashed potatoes. Sounds yummy!

Like you, I LOVE my food. I've just had to get..."creative"...about what I can eat. I've found some items that allow me to splurge without dietary consequence. Pamela's Brownie Mix at Whole Foods is the best thing I've discovered lately. Gluten-free and so delish...can't tell the difference from the real thing.
Having spent a portion of my childhood in Hawaii, I too learned to love laulaus! Yummy! Unfortunately, it's not something easily sent by my parents in a care package. So I have to settle for chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
