Please, someone let me know that this is truly insane, and I'm not off my rocker for calling it so. I used to get emails like this regularly back in the day, but there was a respite for a few years. Now I see she's back to her old shenanigans. Thankfully, my wife understands.
Thats probably because you are acting like a good spiritual head there Daniel.

Insane Email From My JW Mother
by daniel-p inshe starts out with some banal stuff about where they want to move, etc, then, she launches into this:.
that brings up something i wanted to tell you in person but itseems that i am not going to be able to do that very soon.
i amhoping to throw some light on what has happened within our familyesp during the time we were over there.. it has become very apparent to us now that during that time period from early spring on, in 200[x], satan launched an all-out attack on our family, son.

I am sad not so much for myself, but for exploring JW's who want to find out the real truth. My whole life has changed. Without this board I really doubt I would be physically alive and emotionally I'd be as dead as ever for sure.
I've always wished that I had found the board/ known of its existence when I was 16 and not wasted 13 years of my life in self destruct. Finally knowing what was really true when I was 29 through JWD really changed my life. I am always going to be grateful. Its always cheered me to think its there as a resource for any young person looking for truth and support and for that reason I am truly sad its closing.
I've reconnected with old friends and made some invaluable new ones, travelled thousands of miles and met some amazing people.
I wish I had the time and the know how to set up a modest version of the board myself but I don't.
So if anyone does set up a similar board and would like a moderator to assist, well I am volunteering my services - you can find me here whilst its open or on the facebook JWD group.
Thank you to Simon and Angarhad and best wishes for your future.

ARE WOMEN MORE ROMANTIC THAN MEN................AND WHY?
by Summer wine inpersonally, i think they are ............and from an early age but why?
from personal experience men need to feel loved, wanted and appreciated but have a bypass from romance.
is it just my husband or do you men feel pressured to be "be romantic".
-

If you mean romantic as in knowing what is the perfect gift for your partner and remembering anniversaries and birthdays then women are better.
But I actually think romance is in the right words, the sincerity at the right time, not because its an occasion, but just showing unexpected appreciation and love and understanding - then men can be a lot better at this. Knowing my boyfriend (and I dont even like using that word because it just feels like its just not enough to describe what he is to me) understands me, often better than I do myself, is the most romantic thing in the world.
Romantic for me:
is knowing that he tries harder to be the best person he can be because of me.
that he trusts me enough to share his woes, nightmares, and discouragements as well as his joys, dreams and achievements
and that he would want to share his life with me - that is a an unceasing source of pride and wonder.

10 Years International Crime Court: Towards World Law?
by hamilcarr intoday, the international crime court celebrates its tenth anniversary .
i believe it has the potential to become a powerful tool against worldwide violations of human rights .
here's an introductory article on the court's proceedings and future activities:.

HS
Some ICC lawyers have found their names on a hit-list, one has to have twenty-four hour protection, because the criminals that they have in their sights have singled them out for handling.
And likewise lawyers defending the human rights to freedom of speech and sanctuary against persecution for peaceful protesters or members of opposition parties, and who challenge the motivation of countries that claim to uphold these rights are victims of unwarranted pressure.
A World Law arrangement can easily become a political monopoly whereby the market nonentities suffer and the wealthier corporate nations reap the greatest rewards.
There has to be legitimate independence from the sort of economic and diplomatic strategies this kind of set up essentially could foster. It so easily could allow a faux-justice system to prevail, and simply become a large scale playground for market bullies to operate to the detriment of already struggling nations. Can it really work when there already exists such an imbalance of power that poorer countries have no economic weight to effectively object or challenge the proposals made by the ones with all the clout?
It just seems that there is the potential to exploit existing inequalities under cover of an internationally united front. And who will be the impartial adjudicator when no one is completely neutral?

Crumpet,
I think individual countries/member states need to retain some kind of autonomy and that this kind of abuse of anti terror laws in the wake of 9/11 to maintain political diplomacy is a violation of human rights in itself. It needs to be challenged.
This is an interesting point.
Thank you HS. You see - you aren't all 'indecent' after all, and I'm not just hot-air-between-the-ears....though mostly I confess.
I shall continue to waste my time reading this thread, because I like a
lovelylively debate. -
