  i have only been a recent user of this site.

  the other night i explained what it was i was spending time reading online some evenings when my boyfriend is out and tried to explain how it is helping me finally let go of the jw beliefs that i have clung to for so long.

  i thought he would be pleased, but he got really angry and now is very difficult any time i try to use the internet at home.

  He's not normally jealous, but then again I dont get out all that much. I stay at home because I'm paying off a huge loan, acquired through the period where I was seducing him with clothes and chucking my money around like my salary matched his! hehe. So for me when he is out this site is very diverting and I dont get jealous over what he's doing so much. Interesting thoughts though. I'm concluding he just is worried that i mite get hooked up in some other cult by hanging out here, but I've tried to explain that this is not a religious site.... sigh!

  I have only been a recent user of this site. The other night I explained what it was I was spending time reading online some evenings when my boyfriend is out and tried to explain how it is helping me finally let go of the JW beliefs that I have clung to for so long. I thought he would be pleased, but he got really angry and now is very difficult any time I try to use the internet at home. He doesn't think I should be communnicating with such "sad weirdos" etc. Once again I tried to point out that the people here think just like him (well lots of them do) about the JWs, but he just got really angry and said he couldnt talk about it.

  Has anyone else had this reaction from someone who is not and never has been a JW or any other religious? I'm upset because I really hoped he would dig it, but now I can't even talk about the things I'm learning or the laughs I have here or the comfort that I have drawn from others on the site and their experiences with him. Why can't he understand it is a good thing and that I haven't actually coped very well all by myself the last 13 years and that this, at the moment, is a stepping stone to me learning to think for myself? I can't afford therapy and this is the next best thing! But it is very frustrating that I can't share it with him. I feel like one of those JW sisters with an unbelieving husband!

  You are making the hatred for the WT organization a boil when it is only a pimple.

  Good point, well made bro. JWs aren't as hated as they like to think they are. Most people just couldnt give a toss unless they've been personally hurt by them. I'd wager no one hates them because of the amazing love they show, or because they are the one true religion.

  getbusy - you called me an apostababe - i dont think that is used in current WT literature. You can't stick new light like that on here when we are talking to newbies who are still just bumping and grinding their way to Junior Members!

  looking at how the jw's treat sisters compared to brothers, it would seem that the jw's think that men are superior to women.. is this what the bible really says?.

  Ash, the prayer-shawl idea sounds cute! has to be better than the napkins and paper doilees my mum would don so she wouldnt have to interupt her prayer when a baptised male walked in! LOL!
