  HAW...KEE...HAW....KEE Anyone else here a hockey fan?

  i live in a sports city where hockey is the national sport.

  being an oil town, we've experienced the flush of success and the misery of defeat.

  we haven't seen the stanley cup since our heyday in 1990. we're so game-crazy, the city's motto is, "city of champions.".

  The new Tool Album

  i bought it a couple of days ago when it came out...it's amazing how much their music has developed since the last album.. since my liberation from the organization, i've found their lyrics and music to inspire me, it always did, but i never really knew why.

  now the lyrics strike the same chord...only harder.. here's a sample.... .

  bought the new cd. i think its great, tho i need to listen to it many more times to fully appreciate it. their music has opened up my mind to a lot of things, and im still "in" the truth(if thats what it is, tho i dont think so). not only are they amazing musically, but their lyrics really make one think. danny carey is an amazing drummer. the cd with the 3d images is pretty cool too.

  Jehovah's Witness TV commercials?

  i heard from somebody a while back that the society runs tv ads late at night sometimes on new york city television.

  is there any truth to this?

  don't know about that, but how about the new nike/lebron james commercials? "i am a witness" does nike have the holy spirit behind them? or king james? wait, they did name a bible after him!

  Can an extremely "overweight" JW's man become a JW elder?

  i remember years ago at my kh there was a brother that was "very" heavy.

  he was a very nice guy brother grover(not his real name) was very helpful to all of the elders and ministerial servants but he never became an elder.

  i always wondered why and i think it was because he was "heavy".

  why isn't being grossly overweight wrong if ice climbing is a sin(see march 1, 2006 WT, page 19, picture)? if ice climbing is disregarding the sanctity of life, isn't being extremely overweight the same?

  How do Elders handle non-Baptized believers who ask too many questions?

  as follow up to my last post (sorry it didn't all paste from my word document for some reason) i'd like to ask a question.

  some of us have now seen how sickoflies jc committee meeting went, and i know alot on here have there own experiences.

  so my question is this: i have been a non-baptized publisher (born in jw's) for almost my entire life.

  your organized book is seriously out of date. a new one was released in 2005. the "approved/disapproved" staus of non-baptized witnesses was dropped about 20 years ago.

  If you went to the Memorial, what was the attendance like?

  is the hall half full or half empty?.

  seriously though, last night there were about 20% less than the year before, and the year before that there was less.. the hall was rented, but definitely not jam packed like last year.

  i had no problem finding a seat.. what was your attendance like?
