Ian (Dansk) in hospital with CMV
by Alleymom inhi, everyone ---.
claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.
the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.

I think I just became an unbaptized bible study student apostate
by AddaGirl ini had some major questions regarding 607 bce which directly affect the doctrine of 1914. my teacher, admitting being weak on history, could not answer my questions.
i started researching and found that the appropriate dates for the "seventy years" were appearing to be 609 bce to 539 bce, the ruling period of babylon.
this meant that everything i was being taught based on 1914 was in effect, a lie.

Join the club!!
I didn't realize we could actually be that until I stopped studying for the same reasons as you. But hey, if you're not for them all the way, we're against them.

Super Bowl XLII 2/3/2008 Official prediction / comment thread
by Gopher inso the new york - boston rivalry will now play out in the nfl's 42nd super bowl on february 3, in the game between the new york giants and the new england patriots.. will new england be able to keep its perfect winning record?
they have won every game thrown at them, even a few games where they looked vulnerable (such as against the baltimore ravens and even against the n.y. giants).
will their talent and will to win prevail?.

I'm just sorry Shockey's not playing, he's my favorite player.
Man...me, too! Love the guy's crazy passion.
Lonelysheep, Where do you live in Jersey? How long have you lived there? I lived in Philly and then Connecticut for 15 years, maybe we know some of the same people.
I'll pm you, but I don't know/remember any jw's except those I studied with.

Raising children without a religion - thoughts, advice?

husband and i have not been active for many years and no longer consider ourselves jw's.
we also have no desire to be part of an organized religion.

It's peaceful to raise my children without ANY religion. I don't know what advice to give you as mine are not missing anything. My daughter does remember when we went to the KH but sees it as a social function where other kids were, as well as something Mommy and her did together. Now, I try to do things with them and take them to places that don't tell us how to live or what to think.
They live life with a lack of religion and hell, a lack of diety beliefs as well. They're fine. They are being taught to think.
