Multi-tasking? Is it a skill or a disorder?
by Crumpet indo you tend to multi-task or hone in one job, giving it your full concentration until its finished?.
would you say your ability/inability to multi-task is an attribute or a curse?.
the reason i ask is that i seem to have a very short attention span.

The *ability* to multi-task is a skill.
The *compulsion* to multi-task is a disorder.
I second that!
For me at work, being able to multi task and do it well means = "You're a great employee...let's take advantage of you!"

They range from $114K to $1.4 Million in my town, which has an extremely bad school system. I rent an apartment. The next town over (regular/good school system) that I actually would buy a home in go for $335K to $2.8 Million. I cannot afford the lowest house.

oh, and they supposedly do not know where it will happen.

My parents never did anything about it. They requested that no one in the family should find out.
First, I'm sorry to you and your sister for being put in the position to work through this on your own. It's sick and common that many families prefer to act like nothing happened and ensure no one talks about it, if they even know. It wasn't their relationship that was overtly destroyed and they only see it that way very often. It sucks. It's hard to cope sometimes with the fact that they are not acting like they owe us anything, so to speak. Owing to me simply equals respect and integrity to not want to be around an abuser. That's on them, though. We can only do what is best for us, always, regardless if it differs from how other family members may be dealing with it, or denying it.
My sister and I, are totally alone. When family gatherings come along, we're invited, but since we know that the a-hole will be there, we decline.
Same with me. I don't go to Pennsylvania anymore and have not seen the paternal side of my family in about 4 years. I cannot cope with wondering if he will be there or not. I tried. I went to therapy and got on an anti-anxiety med for a few months--this was very stressful. I wanted my life as my own and felt that being around them is holding me back from inner peace. FYI-I'm wrong as far as my family is concerned. What else is new?
One thing is certain: None of them will change because of what I went through and the over abundance of feelings that ride with it. All I can do is live for me.

What are your Guilty Pleasures of a geeky/nerdy variety?
by Crumpet ini don't mean the ones we know about already - things people wouldn't think you did or enjoyed to look at you.. i love watching ray mears extreme survival and learning about how to survive and find food and shelter in extreme climates even though there is a strong possibility that i shall never try and escape naked from a japanese prisoner of war camp, or crash without a flagon of water into the sahara, or come stuck in my ship in a freezing ice plateau in deepest antartica.
.
what's your guilty geeky pleasure?.

SEX, LIES, and TEXT MESSAGES
by nomoreguilt inin detroit yesterday, the story broke that the mayor, kwame kilratick, the hip-hop king himself, was under investigation for his alleged purgery in a wrongful discharge lawsuit.
it seems that he fired 2 police officers because of their diligence in investigating his after ours activities at the mayoral mansion.
in his sworn testimony last year, he swore under oath that he did not have any sort of romantic or intimate affair with his chief of staff.

The owner of the phone (in this case, the city, not HIM) has a right to have those messages retrieved for an investigation. That mayor is a dumbass.
