Maverick, so true.
Remember that any thing the WTS disapproves of has nothing to do with knowing how God feels, but it has to do with their need to alienate their recruit from family and friends. Birthdays, Holidays and anything else that a persons family will get upset about falls into this area.
There is also just one wedding that I know of (correct me if I'm wrong) mentioned in the bible also, is this the only wedding that was ever held OR is it that something outside of the norm happened at this wedding just like at these ONLY 2 birthdays parties mentioned in the bible and it was deemed necessary to put in the
newspaperbible. There they go again, falsely interpreting things, you can't tell me that out of all the people that was mentioned in the bible those were the only 2 birthday parties held vs. the only wedding held....
Excellent point. It's not fair to dissect and eliminate bday celebrations and not weddings. So, there's nothing wrong with either of them. This is of course, using their own 'reasoning from the scriptures'! AA: I will keep quiet on the potential dog doctrine.

Isn't this the phoniest new picture you have ever seen?
by CaptainSchmideo init really looks like a cardboard cutout pasted over a backdrop.
did these two really go to brussels?
will bush eat his brussel sprouts, or will he create a controversy like his father did about broccolli?.

Yes, they really did go to Belgium and I saw them getting off the plane on the news. But that picture looks fake as hell!

Omg, FF, I'm sorry your family is dealing w/more df drama from them! It makes no sense to df them at all, especially when she doesn't understand everything behind it. I'm glad she knows you will be there for them. I really hope her husband comes to his senses a little bit at least so that he'll keep quiet about you still being a loving sister. I know you and Dave could use a break.

Jersey Boy ... To BE, Or Not To Be Gay
by Taylor S. inany jersey heads out there?
downtown jersey city here.
new to this site ... but it's such a god send to realize that i am so not alone.

Welcome, Taylor. There's a few of us on here from NJ.
That was one of many things that got under my skin before leaving: the judgement of people. I couldn't bring myself to truly judge, ignore, alienate from gay people. No one in my life now is gay (that I know of ), but I had friends in hs/college who are. That opened my eyes to just how much they judge people who aren't jw's. So, last year, I stopped studying (after 4 yrs) and decided I did not want to get baptized.
Glad you're here.
*edited to add: I'm 30 mins from you, btw. And, is that you in your avatar?
