  I've had it....

  yesterday evening my dog got an epileptic attack - peeing all over the tapestry and almost glueing at the floor with the foam at his mouth (it is very hard to remove).

  after the attack he wanted to "walk" pacing up the room (and backyard) for a long time.. .

  this night he was whining a lot - wanting outside... (which i allowed for at least 5 times - thus having not much sleep myself).

  Everyone destroyed at Armageddon? How So?

  i can't help but notice in almost every thread related to the subject, people mentioning who is or isn't going to be destroyed at armageddon.

  this is a flawed understanding of the entire concept of armageddon.

  scripture makes it clear that this is a war strictly against ungodly/antigodly entities (possibly some individuals).

  I thought that in the OT God went about slaughter men, women and children whether they were guilty or not. You would be killed even if you were a new born babe just because your mother and father happened to be Cannanite or whatever (can't remember all those tribes). What about the supposed flood, he drowned the innocent as well, didn't he? Didn't everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah die?

  So why should bloody Armageddon be any different?

  Hi Released,

  Could you ask Ray if he thinks we should be a little more vocal or outgoing about the falsities in the WTBTS doctrine.

  Myself, I thought at first we should, all us exJWs, but then I began to wonder if the existing JWs would then beging to suffer serious backlash from people when they're calling at the doors. This might then get them to think that the real persecution and Great Tribulation for them was beginning and so could be counter productive.

  What does he think? Should we try harder to get 'the truth about the troof' out there of not?

  if not , when they started with this nit picky time keeping and product placement counts , was that something that was popular in the world at that time ( the stat keeping not the placements)?.

  i've thought since childhood if they'd quit worrying about numbers and start worrying about people , it'd be a much better religion.

  Hi Candidlynuts, Everyone. It's not till you leave the bOrg that you realise what a strange thing it is to do, to keep an account of the amount of literature placed (SOLD) and the hours spent placing (SELLING) literature to people for free labour.

  I wonder if words don't actually mean anything to active JWs so that they can't see the meaning of 'Publisher' in that they are involved in a book selling multimillion dollar industry.

  I can't think of any religion that does the statistical thing to such an fanatical extreme. It's also used a way to measure a persons spirituality and whether the elders should be calling to encourage you. So, its got to bad news all round.

  As to when it started, it had to be around the time that witnessing became compulsory and so had to be measured to see who was conforming and who wasn't.

  The thing is it does matter that a person knows that its possible for religion to be weaving lies for them to believe in because it affects their actions in everyday life.

  A relative's husband died suddenly of cancer. She would not clear out his clothes or move house or change anything because they had made a pact that as soon as he was resurrected from the cemetery down the road he would make his way to their house and she would be waiting for him. Because of her JW beliefs she thought that they must have done something wrong for him to die like that, not enough meetings, not enough hours, not enough praying.

  When she was told she was dying, she could not accept it and began to suffer from terrible unfathomable or even untreatable anxiety. What had she done wrong? Why her? She'd been to all the meetings, field service, assemblys, etc. She could not reconcile herself to death. Why me? Why me? What's going to happen to me? What's going to happen to me? Why? On and on...

  The bull shit matters.

  What was worst was that she was heartbroken because of JW doctrine that she would not be able to call her husband her husband again, in the new system.

  Her death was a more terrible tragedy because of the bull shit she believed in.

  Damn the WTBTS for fabricating this crap!

  FreedomFighter! Thanks, Yes I have been looking into the OU. I really have to get some form of employment as well though to be able to afford it and for the next year or two that is going to be difficult because of the age of my youngest. We were talking today about how we've always been piss poor because of our religious beliefs apart from my husband having a 'goodish job' it was only always a surviving income. I had fought to stay on at school til 18 but have only academic qualifications and no training in anything. Work that I did was always poverty pay and then it became impossible to go back to work for quite a few years because of major illness. Now I'm at the point where I really need to study and work before it really is too late.

  The UN membership scandal is still not widely known among the rank and file. Whether they would even choose to believe it is another matter and since they don't want to risk dying at Armageddon they find reasons to excuse the WTBTS.

  What's so annoying now is that you can have the blood if it's separated up into fractions, should your conscience permit, but not whole blood.

  'Old farts in Brooklyn' is not a strong enough phrase to use for these people.

  But the rank and file still cannot see through the deception. They're so blinded by their fear of dying at Armageddon that they choose to die now rather than later should they be in a major trauma.
