Why do you post?

what do you feel you get from it?

or give to others?.

I post because after a lifetime of feeling different from other people because of being a JW I have finally found people with the same experiences and mind set as myself. What ever our different views on things our experience with the JW cult is more or less the same.

I finally know I'm 'normal' and just like all of you and that makes me feel happy and good and I hope I can help someone who wants to leave the JW cult. But I also know that this is not as easy as I would like it to be so I"m learning more and more everyday from everyone else who posts on here.

Well, I think the deal is that all men are obsessed with their willys and that's all there is to it.

And a little respect here... if it wasn't for willys non of us would be here anyway so they are sort of important in the grand scheme of things.

Let's hear it for willys...hip, hip...hooray!

How do you get them out of your head

about 7 years ago i was woken out of a sound sleep by a deafening siren and a blinding light.

startled my first thought was "holy shit, armageddon has come i'm about to die".

the truth was, of course, that a fire truck had passed very close to my second story apartment to put out a fire in a neighboring building.

Being in the JW's is a lot like getting stuck in a spider's web.

Have you ever tried to rescue some poor fly that's got stuck. Perhaps a leg or some part of the poor thing will get stuck behind or a bit of sticky web gets stuck to it. It's the same with the JW's but with time you learn to live with it.

Unfortunately your brain's been washed, what can you do?

Slowly you begin to emerge but every so often the crackpot thoughts will also show themselves.

Just laugh them off. After all, if Armageddon does come what the hell can you do about it any way?

do any of you have the matrix wish i could just forget all this attitude sometimes?

me and the wife were fightitng again and she asked why i can't just go back and pretend or just forget all this... she said as an athnostic you either don't belive in god or don't believe that god cares so why can't you just go and fake it... i was dumbfounded i ask her why can't you just get the f*ck out and stop faking it... she stormed out and i sat down here..... so i ask ya, if you could forget all the negatives about the wbts (i know thats a lot) and just go back like nothing had ever happened would you?

But it's bound to be nerve racking when you first leave. Try just fading. Some meetings, then less meetings, then smile nicely and NO MEETINGS.

What you've learnt doesn't have to make you aggressive and pushy. The freedom could give you the grace to take it easy on those who are still trapped.

after reading ray franzs 2 books and much information on this site we did a search comparing wt qoutes and had a local elder soon to be circuit ovsr at our house and the funny thing was he was unaware of much of the early wts.he also expressed some doubts when he applied to be a ministerial servant and they sent him back a letter making him an elder.his wife was here and when we brought coc out she jumped up like a person on fire.

the elder asked where else could we go?so there is doubt amoung the elders for sure.

i have a sense of loss however cannot support a self proclaimed prophet that is contrary to scriptural teaching and associated with falsehood and bloodguilt.

It really is time to begin living and smell the roses. Life is so good out of the borg.

Don't look back and keep moving forward.

My husband and myself were JW's for ALL our lives, forty years in all of brainwashing and it's like we are finally free and alive! Life still has its ups and downs but that's normal. What's not normal is ups and downs and the guilt and unhappiness that being a JW brings.

Need Help any Advice?

hi, i am somewhat new here although my feelings about the jw's haven't been.. anyway, i am doing the fade thing right now along with my husband.

everything was going fine i have not gone to a meeting in 5 months now(i think) and prior to that i was barely going i guess you could say every now and then.

however, going every now and, then i was going back and forth with my feelings.

Be calm and take your time. There's nothing to fear once you're out of the JW net.

Were You One of Those That Ran To The Elders About Everything???

did you always call the elders or talk to them about things?

did you have a favorite elder that you confided to about everything?

if someone was acting inappropriately, did you feel obliged to "report" them to the elders?

Never, ever, ever, I'm very proud to say. My father was a MS so I knew that these men were just a bunch of old farts and never had any fear of their opinion but was afraid of what they could do if they chose to, ie, reprove, disfellowship etc.

My inlaws were constantly tittle-tattling and arse kissing with the elders.

They would make life hell for us when we first got married with coming round with elders asking why we hadn't been to the meetings or that I was not a submissive enough wife and was ruining their sons life.

We were very young when we were married, most of the time we were just too busy in the bed room to be bothered with the meetings and we were hopeless at standing up for ourselves. (don't think we spent much time standing up either!)

It's taken us twenty years to escape the WTBTS and the in-laws.

Now life is bliss!

WE have disfellowshipped both the WTBTS and the in laws!
