Stilla - maybe non of them believe in God. You can make a pretty good case for no persons who claim a religion to be acutually following its beliefs. It's more a club membership thing that you tend to be born into, have no choice about and then do what you want anyway. But the JWs would probably still be chopping off hands and stoning to death like some mid eastern religions, since DFing is in theory a death sentence.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in God?
by Gill inif they did they would not feel the need for things like judicial committees.
they'd leave it to god who supposedly can see all to judge peoples heart condition.
i remember a young sister who left home and went to live with her boyfriend.

I don't think they do. If they did they would not feel the need for things like Judicial Committees. They'd leave it to God who supposedly can see all to judge peoples heart condition.
I remember a young sister who left home and went to live with her boyfriend. The parents were 'adamant' witnesses but did not want their daughter judging by the JC so they advised her to refuse to see the elders. Now since the elders are 'the stars' of the congregation appointed by God's holy spirit, you'd supposedly be worried about disobeying these men and fear God's retribution.
The parents said, that since the Elder's daughters, several of them, had not been disfellowshiped for living with their boyfriends, and even having children, then their daughter would 'not be getting into trouble either'.
Now putting aside the fact that I both agree with and am impressed with this couple for the support of their daughter, doesn't it make you wonder if JWs actually believe that there is an Almighty God Jehovah watching them and keeping his congregation clean with a 'fine' body of elders.
So, do JWs believe in God and fear him, or do they just worship and fear the WTBTS, which is what I think.

Are Those Of Us That Do Not Preach or Attend Meetings Still JWs???
by minimus inwhat's your opinion??

The Edge - I'm finding, that just about everything about the JWs bug me now.
The fact that we do not 'preach' (sell mags) or attend meetings and that they would consider this so dangerous that they may shortly have to mark us publicly as DA'd just so that we can't influence anyone else to see sense is seriously bugging me.
I think if they really do that, then the gloves are off and we shall have to become VERY vocal about their beliefs. Afterall there'll be nothing to lose then!

I hope not!
If they are, then the JWs are guilty of doing what they accuse the Catholic church of doing, counting all of those who have been christened as babies. In which case |'m still a Roman Catholic. I know which one I'd prefer and its not the JWs!

DAing greedy persons
by Gill inso, with the' new disassociating light' wil they have to da all of their overweight witnesses in line with the scriptures:.
'quit mixing with anyone who is a fornicator....greedy person...'?.
surely by their actions of overeating, and greedy persons not inheriting the kingdom, they would be 'showing by their actions' that they are not a jehovah's witness?.

Hi All!
Thanks for your replys. I was also thinking, when reading some other posts today about lying, and particularly 'theocratic warfare lying'. Then, in the circumstances of protecting the WTBTS, perhaps from legal action, by theocratic lying, the lie becomes a 'non-sin'. So what about 'theocratic fornication'. Or theocractic drunkeness or gluttony. Hard to think of how these could benefit the WTBTS but do they become non sins if they are done for reasons other than self gain or self interest.
Actually my imagination is running riot here so I'd better stop!
Is lying not still lying or drunkeness still not drunkeness. Or is it only when it suits the WTBTS?
Does it become a non-sin because so many people do it are have that problem and to disfellowship them all would be plain daft?

Very sorry to hear that. I have no problem with people with a weight problem but neither do I have a problem with people who like their sex, out of marriage. However, the Bible is putting the two, or three if we count the drunkards, on the same level but the WTBTS doesn't. I believe people with a drinking problem are also not Dfellowshiped.

Absolutely! And doesn't that prove that they just pick whatever scriptures suit them to apply to whatever circumstances suits them?

Bible Prophecy of 9/11
by AshtonCA inwas wondering if anyone else knew 9/11 was going to happen before it did?
my mother, when leaving the org.
back in the early 90's began researching the bible (not the nwt because it was too flawed), she used the kjv and the niv, she also used strongs and a bible that had both greek and hebrew in it right along side the english.
