Quotes, good point, the Bible labels anything that is slightly mentally ill as demonic. Ugh.

Does the WTS disfellowship mentally challenged people?
by Elsewhere in.
has anyone ever seen a situation where the wts disfellowhiped someone who is autistic, retarded or otherwise mentally challenged?.
i wonder if the elders give them more leeway knowing that they are not always capable of making decisions as well as a normal person.. .

My sister is mentally ill and they df'd her just as fast as anything, but at the time, she was just becoming ill, so now that she's totally diagnosed and all, my mom still shuns her. I know mom has asked the elders, don't know what they told her, but mom currently feels that its' only okay to talk to her if she's in the middle of a mental breakdown, suicidal, or having hallucinations.
Such a loving organization.

Don't burn your bridges, you can't take back what you say. I would maybe say some "non-apostate" sounding things like, "But it always bothered me when Br. soandso did this and this and he still was in the truth". I always use that kind of logic when my mom starts with me. She is always saying how loving the congregation is and how if we only apply Jehovah's principles our lives would be just fantastically wonderful, and I'm like, hmmm, what about this person and that person in the Hall? Hoping it makes her stop and think a little bit, and realize she may be the only one really beleiving all the crap.

I would have majored in journalism, and probably never found a job. Now I'm a nurse, and the employment opportunities are endless!
We would have been raised in a safe neighborhood across the street from my grandparents, instead raised in an unsafe place, but it was okay since we "didn't associate"
Maybe had a semi-normal adolescence. But who knows, I still am who I am, so maybe I would have had a very similar life.

How do you trust your partner?
by sonnyboy indoes anyone really trust their girlfriend/boyfriend around members of the appropriate sex?.
i thought we had some form of trust, but i dropped my biotch off at the car dealership today and noticed a rather long conversation going on with a "questionable" neighbor (one that we've talked about before in a sexual way).
so, how do you go about building trust in a relationship?

I don't trust him and he knows it. I don't really know why, maybe it's because I don't trust myself. We had a rough start. It's so hard to trust, it can eat you up. Lately I've been purposely keeping my mouth shut when I really want to say, "Why did you come home an hour late, why didn't you answer my calls at work for the last three hours, why didn't you tell me you're having 5 people over to our house on Sunday while I'm at work, and Why did you specifically tell me to not come home early because it won't be fun on Sunday?" GRRRRR. Sonny, it's hard.
Evil force, I don't know how on earth you can have an open relationship, you guys must have amazing communication. It would take lots of work to work that one out. Plus when you've entered the traditional commitment of marriage with a wedding and everything, it's kind of too late to go into an open relationship. I saw a magazine with the headline "Who needs Marriage" or something, about how why don't we do away with marriage. I wonder if it will ever happen. It seems to be much more casual, with a "hope this works out" attitude. (we signed prenups too.)

That's a line from "Some Like It Hot" that men with glasses are more sensitive. (Marilyn Monroe says it. I just saw the movie, it's so cute and way ahead of its time.)
What pisses me off is when I'm on the train and am observing some horrible parent. You know the kind that sits there on her cell phone talking and mumbling away while the tiny 2 or 3 year old is trying desperately to get some kind of attention from mom, such as just asking a question like "where are we going?" And the mom says "SHUT THE F*** UP!" and slaps the kid. Then the 2 or 3 year old starts crying and the mom calls the kid a crybaby. I hate that.

JW's are LOSING IT
by GetBusyLiving inat one of the last bookstudies i ever attended i heard a comment that really struck home to me how desperate these people really are getting, to the edge of insanity.
an older woman commented, "you can tell the end is coming.. its in the air.. you can feel it.. there is something in the air.. times are just.. different" and the whole time she was manically glancing around the room.
the conductor agreed with her.

Metatron, I totally agree. The follow ANYTHING said blindly. So I'm sure if the Society said to go ahead and kill all the Df'd people who try to talk to you or something like that, they would do it.
