SCHIZOPHRENIA + JWS = ??

i really am upset right now, and for a wide variety of reasons.

but number one on my list right now is my worry about my aunt.

my aunt is schizophrenic and obviously off her meds.

Lisa, I totally hear you. I'm sort of dealing with this one too in my family. A certain member of the fam has a schiz.-type disorder, and mom has recently started communicating with her again. Mom is thinking it's the demons, and doubts the medical knowledge that it's genetic, and a physiological problem. The rest of us are trying to convince mom of the truth about schiz., but mom isn't sure. IT'S SO ANNOYING! How can you blatantly doubt facts?

So now that mom is talking to her, she is telling her to just come back to the truth to get rid of demons. Mom also says to us that she just wishes this relative could get off some of her meds because she's heard of the terrible side effects. Yes there are horrible side effects, but the alternative is stuff like your aunt is going through, Lisa, the suicide attempts, and absolutely dangerous and out of control behavior. I just want to say, I hear ya, and let's just keep trying to get the message through of the importance of these meds......!!!!!!......

TAMPON RETENTION & RESULTS

i have never heard of this before, but i think it is worth knowing.. i have come across a rather strange story.

yes it is legitimate and some details are left out to protect this persons identity.. this lady is having problems in her feet and hands.

the doctors find that gangrene is setting in.. it is decided that the legs up to the knees must be removed to stop the spread of septic infection.. the fingers are also to be removed because the infections are starting in the extremities.. it is discovered that a tampon has been left in the vagina for a long time.

Well, earlier symptoms would be a very foul odor from your vagina and an unusual vaginal discharge. I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but I read about that last semester. ONe thing they stress to the doctors/nurse practitioners is that if you do have the patient on the table for the vaginal exam, and note that there is a tampon that had been left in for a long time, and thus this is the source of their vaginal symptoms, they stress that you have a bowl of water and when you pull the tampon out of the woman IMMEDIATELY submerge it in water and then remove it and flush it down the toilet asap DUE TO THE SMELL that may embarass the patient. Ew.

Describe your first thoughts upon hearing the 1914 generation 'new light'

we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.

9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

There was a real crisis in my mind at the time, I was in late teens, I think, and trying to decide what I believed. Had already had sheparding calls due to my "doubting". I thought to myself, "If this whole thing is a bunch of crap, then what will they do when the last 1914 person dies off. Will all the JWs just leave? No, they'll have to change their theory on that. Gee, if they actually ever changed that theory, then I'll KNOW for sure it's a bunch of hogwash." And sure enough, not long after thinking that, they did indeed change the theory. I was like, "That's it, that's my ticket, I'm outta here." And I smiled, said I had to go off to school, but will be sure not to miss even one meeting, and never went back.

hey guys.

i feel deeply for wanderlustguy, when he describes what his father was like with young girls....incidentally, the reason i was disfellowshipped (among other things) was because i had an affair with a much older 'brother' in the cong.

i was just 14 at the time, and being naive and completely under his influence, i believed myself to completely in love with him and believed he felt the same way for me.

Quick: How do I JW-proof the house?

hey guys, i'm looking for tips.

i have 48 hours, so how do you jw-proof your house?

mom and sister and brother-in-law are coming this weekend.

Rebel8: I laughed out loud at that one! And,sadly, you're absolutely right. That's my mom. (That or she just beleives what she wants to.)

Jgnat. Exactly. I like the thought of keeping the older ones in the dark. I can't imagine what my mom would do if she suddenly realized, oh, it's really not real??? All she gave up, all she put up with, all she sacrificed, and still does, it would be awful. Talk about a mid-llife crisis. But then again, I"m sure some on the board stopped when they were in their 50's and are healed up by now. But it would be hard.

ACtually, I just talked to mom on the phone and told her that I would drop her off at the KH since she insists, but that she is not to give out my address to the elders. Then I got scared, and added, "you know, Mr. Goodgirl doesn't like our address being given out." Like duh. I know she knows where I stand, but you sort of have to give her an out. Otherwise her conscience will get the best of her, and she'll cancel the whole vacation.

Staying up all night finishing paper. Cleaning home frantically tomorrow. Plus repairing damage from gas lines. They poked a hole in the gas line to our home yesterday when some guys were digging. So firetrucks wailing, street blocked off yesterday, all just for my home! (Well, me and a few others). So they now have to poke a hole (a big one) in the basement (which is the wall of a beautiful bedroom). So we'll be repairing that. (Painting, they say, is not something they do.) There were literally 2 jackhammers going at the same time this morning. See why I can't study???

Mom/sis/bro-law come tomorrow night. Show them the town. Sunday maybe drop mom off at the KH if she promises not to give out my address. Sunday night show mom the town again, then a week in the northwoods of Wisconsin.

Sounds like your parents live in the same town as your college. You have to take a stand at some point. Just say class schedule keeps conflicting. Go to a few sunday meetings, then less and less until you only show up to the memorial. when people try to encourage you, just say, "I know, I know, I'll try."

I like that hat, so cute.

MOney: Are your parents paying for college? How about donating plasma. In my college town it was $20 first time, $40 second time, and $25 each time thereafter. YOu can sit there and study for the hour or two that it takes. Quick cash for just a quick owie in the arm.

About screwing girls. Don't worry too much, the time will come very shortly. If you rush it, you'll end up in a long-term relationship that you really didnt' want. YOu'll get invited to go out or go to some awesome parties, and a girl will be flirting with you, and if you say do you want to come over and she says yes, it means she wants to have sex. But don't ask too soon after meeting her. Wait a few hours, at least. And drink, but don't drink more than 2 or tops 3 drink per hour, or you'll get alcohol poisoning and die. (Just an estimate, but you're at that vulnerable age.) NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!!!!!!

Join everything at school, that's the way to make friends and learn new stuff too. You'll be way cooler than just what the hat does for you. There is something for everyone. Volunteer things where you go away on spring break and do a volunteer trip for the week. I think it was paid for, can't remember. And a good excuse not to go home and preach and go to meetings. But so much fun, the best memories of mine.

Buy the 2002 Honda. Why spend 10,000 that you don't have?

i just worked with a bunch of chicken-cooking retards for 8 hours.. then i come home and get no love from my jwd compadres?.

Don't worry, this chicken phase of your life will be over soon, you'll be in college, even if it is a little delayed. (By the way what are your plans?) I had this awful time between 18 and 20 where I just sat in my small town while everyone else was off to a bigger city. But now I'm 26, my whole life has changed, and I can hardly remember those dumpy years.

Now I sit at my computer in a big city and procrastinate finishing my next phase of master's thesis which is due TODAY!!! (well, I have a bit of a grace period)

And no one ever PMs me either.
