Fighting in Afghanistan/Warthog
by Adam inwith all i've been reading in the newspaper, i have yet to hear one mention of the a-10 warthog.
this plane is extremely manuverable, highly survivable with tripple redundant systems all thru the plane, and packs a major punch with its nose cannon which the plane was built around.
it would seem perfect for the small arms fighting going on right now.

I'm not an expert, just like watching "Wings" on cable, but my understanding is that the A-10 is designed as a "tank-buster."
It may be more useful against heavier arms fire.The Apache helicopter is much more manuverable and can travel at slower speeds and has the some of the same type systems used in the A-10. The Apache is also operated by the Army and is used for close support for ground forces. The A-10 is operated by the Air Force. I don't really know how that affects operations, but I would imagine the Army uses their own systems when posible.
I did happen to talk to a Army Major who flew Apaches several years ago. The Army and Air Force were doing joint training missions in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Major was proud of his men because he said they had been kicking the A-10's butts all week.

here are a few of my favorites(I'm using the Good News Bible so I hope you'll understand the difference in wording)Galatians 3:11- Now, it is clear that no one is put right with God by means of the Law, because the scripture says, "Only the person who is put right with God through faith shall live."

Are the WTBS the modern day Pharisees and Saducees
by Leander ini've been thinking about this for sometime now and i wanted to know how other people felt about this comparison.
the pharisees were known for hypocrisy and for also promoting traditions of men and other non-bibical teachings.
when we look at the wtbs in light of the actions of the pharisees there are some amazing similarities.

I agree with your comparison.
The more I read here the more I'm reminded of how Jesus told the Pharisees that he would send them great teachers and the Pharisees would cast them away. Matthew 23:34 Compare this to some people on this board (Randy Waters, Bill Bowen and Amazing)and how they have been treated by the Society. I know there are many others, these are the ones that come to mind the quickest for me. -

See, I’ve done had a hunting rifle on lay-away down to the Wal-mart for his birthday and now I’m gonna be out about $350.00 cause he says he won’t be doin’ no more huntin’. He said he also was gonna quit ROTC down to the high school and quit his job at Checkers so he could go out in service.
P.O.: Well what do you want from me?
R.D.: I either want you to come up with the $350 or I’m comin’ down there and whip your ass!!
P.O.: Sir, what did you say your name was?

Jehova's Witnesses and Dating
by SoManyQuestions inthere's this really great girl i know, and she is so perfect for me, except for the fact that she's a jehova's witness and i'm not.
she says that she can't date outside the religion.
i'm pretty sure that jehova's witnesses are a branch of "mainstream christianity" (meaning they just basically follow the bible, not have a different interpretation like like mormons).

So Many Questions,
Here's some advice from someone married into the WTBS.
If you really want to persue a relationship with this woman:
1-Start a bible study with a JW brother, never research or think about what your being told, just accept everything. Become sheeplike and "teachable."
2-Give up on all you have ever been taught in church about a loving God and learn to become fearful of God.
3-Don't worry about a relationship with your own family, you will soon hurt them by not attending their holiday get-togethers. Be prepared to give up Christmas, Birthdays, Thanksgiving etc.
4-Forget having any feelings about current events or political discussions. Of course holding any political office(even county or city counsil) or even voting will not be tolerated.
5-If you have doubts and can't commit to all the WTBTS teachings you should forget about this lady. If she is babtised and dates you she could be disfellowshipped.
6-If you decide to have a bible study you should also be prepared to never even look at this web site again. There are apostates here and we are dangerous.

Do wives just tag along?

i'm sure this applies to husbands and children too, but i feel mostly women.. in the congregation there were often brothers viewed as strong , in postions of responsability such as min's and elders.usually in my experience the wives were no where near as "spiritual".. in fact it often seamed as though there "service" was based on their husbands.. i've seen this in men to but not as much.. now the proof of this is in whether a large number of spouces leave the truth without much persuading needed by their more forthright wives or husbands.. heres an example.. mine.. my wife has never read an apostate book and doesn't look on the internet, but as soon as i stoped going to the hall so did she.. another contrary experience is of a prominant elder in france who was well known and gave talks on the district assemblies.as soon as his wife died he left the truth as he was only going to please her.. whats your experience been.. (please don't get mad at me ladies i'm only talking about what i've seen)

I agree with SW.
Its seems the women are the ones that give most of the answers during the WT discussions. The women also seem to be the ones out in service. The women really seem to research their answers.
The only men commenting at the meetings are the elders and MS.
If the JW's are right, the new world will be full of women looking for men.
