personnally, i heard a lot of urban legends about the presence of a devil in a house.
it was always the same kind of story about a devil who lived in a house and then the jw arrive and they pray jehovah and suddendly, the demon go away...
I always find these stories some pathetic JWs bid for a little fame and personal attention. Like telling scary stories around the campfire.
The ones that scare me are the ones where they think JWs all have an angel at their side to protect them in the field ministry. I guess the one with that sister in Russia must have been gone on a coffee break.

Young people have to be careful that they don't just exchange one group telling them what to do or what to think for another group, their peers. Experimenters don't usually experiment on themselves, they use animals or other means. Young people can learn from watching what happens to other people who follow a certain course...it's safer. I know this sounds like a WT, but having worked with nonwitness youths on a volunteer basis, I have seen the results of blindly following your friends. It's important to learn how to gather information, analyze, and learn to make an individual decision that will benefit yourself even if it is not the choice of your friends and they may discourage you.

we see the rules given to the sheep for raising their children and we shake our heads saying, dont they get it?

Betweenworlds, it's a good idea for all parents to select guardians for their children should the parents die before the children are adults. It is best to draw up a carefully crafted legal document especially if the guardian choices are not blood relatives. Be sure to talk to the people you select as guardians so they understand what might be entailed, i.e., a court fight. I would suggest a lawyer who is experienced in this type of law rather than a general lawyer. It may not be possible to eliminate all contact with the JW relatives, but it can be greatly minimized.
BTW a "living will" usually means a document spelling out what an individual wants done medically should they be unconscious, whether life support means should be used, etc.
A regular will usually has a part about how minor children will be taken care of.

i did not know how many would be there in support of erica but as many of you know we arranged a early breakfast at 7:30 am at the circle t restaurant.
when i arrived it was a pleasant surprise to find around 20 people from all across the country to be there.

Yes, and we disfellowship them too. Imagine a world where (US) a minor must be 16 to drive, 21 to drink alcohol, 16 to get married (varies, but no 11 year old can get married legally in the US). Why, because they aren't considered mature enough to make the decision on their own...but to serve Jehovah forever....that's different...in fact the WTS discourages teenage marriages because teenagers aren't old enough to handle such a serious responsibility...but to serve Jehovah which is more "serious" just dive right in.

7. Apathy and boredom among those in KH
Boredom...sometimes the only people you talk to are in the car group (which happens when you only go out during the weekdays)

anyway, one thing i always missed were the holidays-christmas especially.
