the made a separate box in the article to highlight the math behind jubilees, and i'm wondering if they're trying to get people thinking and stir up the pot without actually making a false prophecy.
for instance: jubilees happened every 7 times 7 years.
Jubilee used in the past:
Creation day 7,000 years long
7th creation day 7,000 years long
6,000 years of human history 1975
1,000 years left to run in 7th creative day from 1975
so the end comes in 1975 so that the 1,000 years after contain the years for Jesus Messianic rule from heaven
6 years then 1 year sabbath: 6-1,000 year days, then 1-1000 year Messianic kingdom

in questions from readers, it explains that when satan told eve 'you certainly will not die', he wasn't starting the doctrine of the immortal soul, but that rather came later, after the flood..

Who was it that led humans to believe that lie? Thanks for the quote and the very good summary. It is hard to evaluate what someone says in Russell's life period with how people think and believe today. It was a different world pre-1914 and even a few years after.

first up, regarding circuit assemblies:.

The GB of the WTS is no longer involved in the business end of the WTS. They have handed that over to non-anointed jw men at Bethel. Even the WTS realized that letting the GB handle business was not a good business model (and for certain legal sidesteps).

Well, now we see behind the curtain...though many of us have seen. I knew a brother who had the weight thing applied to him and the BOE slowly removed everything, making him just a figurehead or a cypher. Then he started losing weight and everyone was happy for him, he had cancer and would die 4 months later. Better dead than fat.
At the same time, Brother KissHisRing was heavier than this brother and nothing done to him.
wtc has become adept at using tragedy as a means of raising cash.
for example, when puerto rico was devastated by a hurricane, wtc directed a large number of congregations to donate $1500 each in supplies that would be used for relief purposes.
it is not known how many congregations took part in this effort but the feedback suggests it was in the hundreds.
I do believe the WTS requires jws to send their money to their local branch. In the US that is in NY.

zeb, thanks for sharing that. I love watching certain ones. A few of my associates and I would practice broadway musical songs and then go out in a park and sing. Not online. We were pretty good and drew quite a big audience at times. We practiced this song too and performed.
