Cain and the Kenites
by peacefulpete ini'm at work, so i'll be brief.
the kenites are mentioned many times in the ot, usually associated with a semi nomadic pastoral herding lifestyle and metal work, centered/originating in the south of israel but found throughout the land as resources required.
they are regarded as a branch of midianites which is relevant for the introduction of yahweh to israel called the kenite hypothesis (another time).

It can be like untying the Gordian knot.
Gordian knot. A complex knot tied by a Greek king. According to legend, whoever loosed it would rule all Asia. Alexander the Great, according to some accounts, undid the Gordian knot by cutting through it with his sword.

I left the same day and never went back. Right in the middle of the first day of a circuit assembly.
No meetings, assemblies, conventions, memorials, weddings, receptions, funerals, visitation, special events, etc.
I have never regretted it. That was 20 years ago.

Going against the WTS wishes, is going to have some negative feed back. Even if you end up being right, you are wrong to question WTS decisions. They will say they have the overall picture which an individual congregation does not have.
The WTS is the parent religious non-profit, which gives them the legal authority to dissolve any lower non-profit in its organization, in the US.

I have always wondered how the WTS came up with its interpretations, not by their "holy spirit inspired" utterances by by independent reasoning based on non-jw sources for sure. They also take whatever supports their thesis sometimes quoting their sources, sometimes just saying "one Bible scholar" with out naming them or the source of the material (almost always a non-jw person/source).
I give you credit doing the research through such a maze of information.

Need help in finding some information regarding the Adam and Eve tale.
by Tameria2001 ini am finally at the point in my life i no longer believe in the tales of the bible.
my husband feels for the most part that it too is stuff made up.
there are just a few things that he wants to get cleared up, and one of those being the story of adam and eve.

Cite one scripture in the N.T. that chargers Christians to be witnesses of / for Jehovah.....Not one.using K.I ./ WTB&TS
by smiddy3 ini think the wtb&ts publication titled "the kingdom interlinear of the christian greek scriptures" speaks for itself.. the word for word translation of the greek into english.. that publication does not even contain the name or word jehovah either in hebrew letters or greek letters anywhere in the word for word texts.. their is not one scripture in the n.t.
where christians ,followers of jesus christ are instructed to be witnesses of jehovah ,however there are something like twenty scriptures that explicitly state followers of jesus christ are to be witnesses of, for, and about jesus...

I should have added a qualifier, where Jesus used the name Jehovah or equivalent outside of the scriptures he quoted.

I have no background in non-jw writings on Adam and Eve: Leolaia was a source but she no longer posts on JWN that I can tell. peaceful pete, has been doing research in non-jw writings (scholarly) about Adam and Eve. He might have suggestions.
There are others on here that have shared such info. Hopefully, they will see your post and chime in.

Babylon The Great / World Empire of False Religion, do JW`s even preach that anymore ?
by smiddy3 inwhen was that first preached , with the book babylon the great has fallen gods kingdom rules ,the 1970`s ?
where they claimed that false religion had a fall in 1919 and that it was continuing to that day .
however today we see not babylon the great that is falling ,but the jehovah`s witnesses religion that are on the decline ,selling off branches , kingdom halls in one place after another throughout the earth .. and only a couple of years ago they were predicting they would be needing thousands of kingdom halls to be built for the expected influx of new worshippers ?

Rub, I did say this
(not as much as in the past, not easy to dumb down for current jws)
It would take an oldtimer like me to remember the convoluted way they used to approach this. Even then I could see the eyes of many glaze over.
