Thanks, Terry. It is hard for many people in the US to keep on US history let alone history in the rest of the world.
Yes, when the European started divesting themselves of their foreign colonies (does Ireland count?), the Europeans decided where to draw the boundaries without any concern about the people who lived in those colonies, putting boundaries that separated one part of a tribe from the other part. Or melding 2 or more tribes that had been at war with each other for over a 100 years or more.
The Europeans decided the boundaries based on economic factors.

i'll be the first to say that the russian government is pretty terrible and overreaching in its', power but that's not what this is about.

in a recent hearing, a witness for the jws said this under oath:.

one thing makes jehovah’s witnesses unique: they do not rely on strict rules or the authority of any particular leader, instead, they try to help adherents develop a bible-trained conscience so that each individual can personally and voluntarily make decisions guided by the bible.. i'm sorry but that is just not true.

I can think of too many active jws that turned up with VD, were active alcoholics or drug users (even drug sellers at the KH), single with children to raise, miserable and angry, in prison, scarred and maimed, embezzlers, child abusers, wife abusers, etc.

I was thinking about my long history with the WTS, 64 years. In that time, there have been many members of the GB that have come and gone. I think a few on here are about my age or older might remember some of these men. It seems that it is current trend for new GB members to be mostly from the US.
I looked up the past and current members of the GB and I found this about their place of origin, all white men claiming to be anointed by the time they were appointed to the GB.

In my research I found that the WTS says they started talking about the "governing body" in 1944.

i like listening to mozart.. i have noticed the site says it has been visited 181,232,000 plus times.. it has received 51,500 plus comments.. their much bragged about jw.org site has received hm visits?

and comments of course?

comments are denied... says a great deal about the call and power of blessed music..
