Dreading the memorial

hey.

does anyone else dread attending (in person or on zoom) the memorial months in advance?.

literally as soon as new year hits, i feel sick and super anxious, and i've realised it's because of the memorial, which i only attend because of family, who kinda tell me the reason they have bad health is cuz i left the jw sevel years ago..

I never knew why the WTS emphasized the Memorial, especially for non-anointed people. Non-anointed jws were not even invited and made to feel they had to or should be there since they were not in a "covenant arrangement" with Jesus. 1925 95,000+ 1928 44,000+ (or 23,000+ depending on the quote) In fact the WTS believed that the "great crowd" also called "great company" or "great multitude" would go to heaven. https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/great-crowd-other-sheep.php This was changed over time by the WTS to the great crowd only living on earth and not anointed. "No Scripture states that either the Great Crowd or Other Sheep are on earth. Christians understand the Great Crowd have a heavenly hope, as did Pastor Russell, and even Rutherford for many years.

Answer -- Yes, they receive life direct in that they have been begotten of the Holy Spirit, and when they are begotten they are just the same way as the little flock, because we are called in the one hope of our calling. No, as a book study group or at a meeting, this book was never studied, I was a jw at that time and wondered why we had never and asked an "elder." He said (without anything in writing by the WTS, that the book was really for non-jws. I don't know what he meant by that. The Greatest Man book was studied and had a very different format from past and current publications. Chapter material, at the end of the chapter, the questions. Many jws preferred it, but the WTS went back to the original format, paragraph/question, next paragraph. (September 1992 Kingdom Ministry) (I won't put a link but you can go the Watchtower Online Library and find it) (I will add this statement made when the Mankind Search book came out (meant to be used with individual bible studies or starting them "Because of the book’s careful coverage of each religion, those who possess it in their language will be able to start Bible studies in the chapter appropriate to each person’s religious background."

this afternoon i drove by an old hall i attended ( barrington illinois) and noticed that it had been sold, it is now an adventist .

now here is my drive-home thinking.. back in the 80's when i attended i was newly married, and had a young child.

the jws i know (which admittedly are more liberal than most) are suddenly into prepping to one degree or another.

some have simply assembled "go bags" with basic common sense supplies in case they need to bug out in the event of a natural disaster and others seem to be seriously into it, almost to the degree to which mormons are.

Go-bags started after Hurricane Katrina 2006 after the WTS realized how woefully inept they were handling the ones whose homes were destroyed and no where to go, elder bodies who had no concept of what to do, elder bodies who did not have lists of members and contact info or if they did it was woefully out of date. Then jws were instructed in the KM (I think) to be prepared and what to do.

Fully vaccinated

i have just heard about a rebellion starting for the kingdom ministry schools this year.

nobody is allowed to go unless you are fully vaccinated and the unvaccinated are not allowed to watch by video conferencing.. apparently there are many congratulations insisting on recently fully vaccinated meaning to those elders, you had your latest booster recently.

if it’s been more than six months you are no longer fully vaccinated.. i hear of lots of elders or mss who just do not want to keep taking these injections some haven’t had a booster in months and now they are not allowed to go to the upcoming kms.. that is not really what the letter said, it says all coordinators have to check that all elders are fully vaccinated.

I went on WOL and looked for public WTS, and there are none. Probably the WTS will just have jws use the old magazines that are piling up at KHs and people's homes.

Why are so many Jehovah’s Witnesses Angry and Rude?

why do you think many jws are hostile and rude?

or is that just my imagination?.

I find that many are self-righteous and see the people at the door already toast at Armageddon. They see these people as ignorant of the bible (when too many jws don't know the bible themselves, just pat phrases the WTS teaches them, or figure the publication will do the witnessing). I have been with jws that rile up the person so much I have had to interrupt them and politely ask the person to forgive us and escort the jw off the property quietly. I finally preferred going by myself. Some jws see the person at the door's correct response to their rudeness as proof that they the jw is being "persecuted." Most jws only go door to door to insure their everlasting life on earth, not to share that prospect with non-jws. CYA.
