  why are we interested in what is going on in the JW

  for the most of us, we have left the jws...and even though we are no longer jw, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced.

  i was trying to sort out in my mind why i still care about what they are doing.

  i think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the jws that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends.

  I would think some ex-jws or faders are still interested because they have family still in the WTS and perhaps friends. Some of these people may try to share the new good news with them. This way ex-jws/faders will know what they might use and be prepared to present other new info or reason with them kindly with thought-provoking questions.

  kingdom halls will be the thing of the past.. conventions (mini assembly halls will still be going on) but will charge for attending and parking and always a donation.

  elders will play a much smaller role since csa.

  cart preaching will replace door to door.

  Awhile ago, the Worldwide Church of God split into 2 parts because a disagreement of core teachings. They still exist for in a smaller form.   That's true cyberjesus. A few jws did actually look up all the scriptures and side material (I did) and did not regurgitate the info in the paragraphs. In fact, too many jws prefaced their "comments" with "the paragraph says."

  Dreading the memorial

  hey.

  does anyone else dread attending (in person or on zoom) the memorial months in advance?.

  literally as soon as new year hits, i feel sick and super anxious, and i've realised it's because of the memorial, which i only attend because of family, who kinda tell me the reason they have bad health is cuz i left the jw sevel years ago..

  I never knew why the WTS emphasized the Memorial, especially for non-anointed people. Non-anointed jws were not even invited and made to feel they had to or should be there since they were not in a "covenant arrangement" with Jesus. 1925 95,000+ 1928 44,000+ (or 23,000+ depending on the quote) In fact the WTS believed that the "great crowd" also called "great company" or "great multitude" would go to heaven. https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/great-crowd-other-sheep.php This was changed over time by the WTS to the great crowd only living on earth and not anointed. "No Scripture states that either the Great Crowd or Other Sheep are on earth. Christians understand the Great Crowd have a heavenly hope, as did Pastor Russell, and even Rutherford for many years.

  "Does the Great Company receive life direct from God on the spirit plane? Answer -- Yes, they receive life direct in that they have been begotten of the Holy Spirit, and when they are begotten they are just the same way as the little flock, because we are called in the one hope of our calling.   No, as a book study group or at a meeting, this book was never studied, I was a jw at that time and wondered why we had never and asked an "elder." He said (without anything in writing by the WTS, that the book was really for non-jws. I don't know what he meant by that. The Greatest Man book was studied and had a very different format from past and current publications. Chapter material, at the end of the chapter, the questions. Many jws preferred it, but the WTS went back to the original format, paragraph/question, next paragraph. (September 1992 Kingdom Ministry) (I won't put a link but you can go the Watchtower Online Library and find it) (I will add this statement made when the Mankind Search book came out (meant to be used with individual bible studies or starting them "Because of the book’s careful coverage of each religion, those who possess it in their language will be able to start Bible studies in the chapter appropriate to each person’s religious background."

  this afternoon i drove by an old hall i attended ( barrington illinois) and noticed that it had been sold, it is now an adventist .

  church !

  now here is my drive-home thinking.. back in the 80's when i attended i was newly married, and had a young child.
