  Regional Convention Attendance

  elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

  he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

  co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

  Someone put a invitation to the regional convention in this area. Being held at an Assembly Hall. Never thought to see that day. Built only to hold one circuit which consisted of a max of 1500, so all could find a seat. More than that would be a nightmare, beyond the other nightmares to be found there.

  boogerman, the WTS did try legally to change it but seemed to have failed, since they stopped using that phrase and specifically told congregations not to use that on KH signs. KM 4/1979 p. 4 " ● Is it appropriate to have a Kingdom Hall sign saying: “Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses”? So there will be uniformity, the Society encourages all to make their signs read: “Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.” Also, that is probably why the WTS changed to Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses too. Last time that phrase was used as a direct term was in 1986.

  Hahaha, I saw that picture and I remember that word being used in the bible. The WTS uses the phrase "wild bull" in their translation, with an explanation in a 1992 WT. There are many reasons on found online about were there unicorns, if so why not any today, how the unicorn missed the boat--ark, etc.

  Beth Sarim, they adjusted that. " out a Christian woman’s wearing slacks sometimes, as when working around the house or on a farm. And according to local custom and necessity, slacks may be the desired attire in very cold climates." That was a point of contention in my area with very cold winters. We had to wear pants under our skirts for a while, and good, warm boots, hatwear, and gloves. Pioneers can't be stylish and wear high heels, skirts, and stylish coats. Real ones anyway. One circuit overseer's wife, wore clothing appropriate to the weather. One female jw was asked at the door by the woman living at that house, "Honey, you can't dress like that and be outside in the cold. You should go home right now and change." Hahaha.

  i believe this list which many of us worked on needs to see the light of day again...and added to if possible.. you know you are in the wrong religion:1. when the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....

  "do you believe in the "faithful and discreet slave" appointed in brooklyn in 1919?"2.

  when you will be refused baptism if: a. you don't believe jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bc (whereas all non-jw scholars, all encyclopedias and all history books say this event took place in 587 bc.)b.

  Great Beth Sarim. I was so thrilled, I tracked down his contact info and called him. We had a nice conversation and he invited us to stop on our next trip down to FL. It became a regular thing, meeting with him and his wife, having a meal, and sharing stories. Ray would take me into his office and show me the correspondence he had from people all over the world, that had the response to his book as I did. I was so sad when he died and his wife shortly after that.. I have my memories though.

  Stage 4 Cancer, Stem Cell Transplant and Blood Transfusions

  today, i received a call from my oncologist nurse.

  she informed me that i will need to sign a consent form for a blood transfusion.

  the doctor will see me next wednesday to go through the consent form with me.

  Beth Sarim, I realized that I am willing to get shots, or use needles to administer my medication to myself, or others who cannot do it for themselves any more, Giving blood is a very organized process, I give at the local office of the Red Cross, some at blood drives (I can see that as a problem for ex-jws). No more often than every 8 weeks, but you can choose how often you want to give. Every time I give, they tell me how many people I help, my blood is "special" and is used for babies with special needs. I figure, someone has given, they too have needle anxiety like me, but still do it. I figure it would be hypocritical not to, if I would accept a transfusion. I like the idea that I am really helping people live longer, not like the lies I told people door to door.

  I have known of elders that descend into alzheimers or equivalent, and are still kept on the BOE but their duties are assigned to other elders. those elders attend, and many times just nod off. "Not too long ago, however, an adjustment was made. Older elders were asked to hand over some of their weightier responsibilities to younger elders."

  I have called on people who say there are jws, but only studied with jws, never attended meetings, just studied for as long as ten years, smoking and celebrating holidays all during. Or neighbors or family that say a certain family are jws, same situation. I can think of people who have taken WT publications and kept in their home, not proof. And non-jws, even news organizations don't have a clue. Many people I have met that say they are Catholic or Jewish, haven't practiced their religion for years.

  The "condemnation" work is not a new WT concept but has been around for some time. Basically, the WTS teaches that after the GT starts, there will no longer be a message of coming into the organization and be safe (as a group as the WTS qualifies). Then it will be only a "judgment" message. May 2020 WT p. 15 "Sometime after the start of the great tribulation, “the kings of the entire inhabited earth” will form a coalition of nations. (Rev. 16:13, 14; 19:19) That coalition becomes what the Scriptures call “Gog of the land of Magog.” (Ezek. 38:2) That coalition of nations will make one final all-out assault on God’s people. What will provoke the attack? Speaking of this time, the apostle John saw a storm of unusually large hailstones raining down on God’s enemies. That symbolic hailstorm may take the form of a hard-hitting judgment message delivered by Jehovah’s people. It could be that this message provokes Gog of Magog into attacking God’s people with the intention of wiping them off the earth.​—Rev. 16:21. October 2019 WT p.16During the great tribulation, the message that we proclaim will likely change. Currently, we are preaching the good news of the Kingdom and we are endeavoring to make disciples. But at that time, we may well deliver a message as hard-hitting as hailstones. (Rev. 16:21) We may proclaim the impending doom of Satan’s world. In time, we will find out exactly what our message will be and how we will deliver it. Will we use the same methods we have used for over a hundred years to accomplish our ministry? Or will we use some other methods? We will have to wait and see. In any case, it seems that we will have the privilege of boldly proclaiming Jehovah’s judgment message!​—Ezek. 2:3-5.
