VERY NEW AT THIS BUT LOST IN SPACE

I understand how it was the lack of the love Jesus talked about that made me finally realize that the WTS had it wrong. I was at a circuit assembly, and after a "enlightening" talk in the morning, I told my husband I was going home and not getting involved any more in anything sponsored by the WTS. Lack of love = me gone; just stopped going, talked to no one about why, "a personal matter" or a serious health issue, personal. It has been 23 years and I have kept my word. Glad to hear that things on here have helped. I found Simon's DB when I was in my confused state. It helped on the way to research myself and reconfirmed my position over and over and over. Glad to hear you have been able to put to rest some of the confusion. Love, Blondie

Armageddon Car
by OnTheWayOut inhow many of you bought a nice sedan, suv, or even a minivan back in the days that you described as your "armageddon car" that you would care for and it would last until the end arrived?.
i was driving a 1974 plymouth volare wagon in 1992 when i managed to get an 8-year old buick century.
it was low mileage and had a very luxurious interior.

Rivergang, can you point me to the comment in the W68 on In their wisdom, sometime in 1968 the WTS declared that “Now was not the time to be hiding behind Matthew 24:44” (The article was entitled “Why are you looking forward to 1975?”).

WT says 'Church Fathers were leading teachers'
by youdontknowhim inwas it jehovahs witnesses who acknowledge the church father as leading teachers?
this is a very interesting statement by justin.
do you accept origen as an authority when he said jesus is our god?

Good points. I looked up the other beliefs of church fathers and found that many of those did not agree with the WTS bellief. The WTS cherrypicks their quotes.

The WTS is now "suggesting" that members practice the songs before the convention (should be at KH too). Been a problem for a long time. I am a singer and I was told not to drown out the others who sang in whispers.

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

The whole gobag thing originated with Hurricane Katrina, when the WTS lost all track of some members who used it to fade away. Congregation elders did not have or had out of date lists of phone numbers and addresses of the rank file....the go bag thing started shortly after that.

Children dumped at ministry group
by Mikejw init’s not right for children to be forced to come to ministry groups on their own without their parents.
the parents just expect others to look after them.. we have this happening at our group all the time.
early teens and even younger.. the parents just want them out of the house for a bit and put the burden on others to look after them and get them home safely.. there should be an announcement or something that youths need to be accompanied by a responsible adult and not just dumped at the group on their own.. who is supposed to look after them?.

Yes, especially children being home schooled and parents went to work!!!!

I never had an Armageddon car. My family did not buy into 1975; partly because some were alive in 1925 and saw that fall by the wayside. Our reason, Matthew 24:44. But we did not share it with others. New Living Translation :You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. So, if it was expected in 1975, it was not the right date.

the gb "never lie or deceive us.
we can have absolute trust in the governing body".. he then makes a very helpful point, so as to avoid being deceived and avoid lies.
