In the past few years, I noticed that when the WTS wanted to change some "interpretation" or such, they would just stop mentioning it in the publications, like 7,000 year creative days. Eventually, many jws don't know that was a well-supported idea by the WTS, based their teaching that Armageddon had to come at the end of 6,000 years (because they need 1,000 years for the millenial kingdom). Stopped mentioning in in 1989, and now they say those days are "thousands and thousands of years). Eliminates the date 1975. So I'm not surprised that they handle Tony Morris' existence the same way.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

I base my opinion on 30 years as a jw in several congregations in the US and Europe. They used to play bible games with scriptures citations and where they were found in the bible. History Pictionary of the bible...that was sad. And that were the elders and older jws. I know there are some jws that really do read their bible, look up the scriptures and read them while studying the WT publications. And a few others that have their own program of reading and study. But overall, jws are fairly ignorant of their history and what the bible actually says because of not engaging in much deeper thinking. I know people have busy schedules with family and children, the "preaching" work; meeting attendance, etc. I lived during those days too. But my personal experience with many congregations over the years in a variety of locations, seems to support my unhappy observations.

For once the WTS is putting Jesus at the forefront. He has taken the back seat in the WTS teachings. I wonder if that is because so many jws have no real knowledge of what Jesus did and said. The last WTS book that put Jesus first was the Greatest Man book released in 1992 (32 years ago). Different in that the questions were at the end of each chapter, not after every paragraph. (for those triggered by going to the WT Online Library "1 During the week of October 12, we will begin studying The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived in our Congregation Book Studies. What a joy it will be to review the life and ministry of Jesus Christ! Since the book is designed somewhat differently from other books we have studied, a few guidelines will be helpful.
2 The book has no page numbers, so the schedule published in Our Kingdom Ministry will list the chapters to be studied, usually three or four each week. Chapters 35, 111, and 116 are longer and will be divided into two studies each. After having a qualified brother read an entire chapter (or an entire subheading, as in chapters 35, 111, and 116), the study conductor will ask the questions at the end of the chapter that correspond to the chapter or portion just read. The answers do not always follow progressively in the chapter. Brief and pointed comments should be based on material in the lesson.
3 After that, as time allows, all scriptures cited at the end of the chapter should be read. Longer scripture citations may be divided into smaller portions in order to allow various publishers to share in the reading, and then comments can be given on what was read. Pointed questions prepared by the conductor will help to draw out meaningful comments that show how the scriptures that were read relate to what has been highlighted in the book. All questions and comments should help those attending to focus attention on Jesus Christ, his life course, and his teachings.
4 The Greatest Man book considers the life of Jesus in chronological order. Visualizing events and fixing in mind where they occurred can be a real help to remembering them. Therefore, be sure to consider the colorful illustrations and make frequent reference to the map that appears in the beginning of the book, following the introduction." Last time I saw any WTS publication studied this way. Many jws loved it.

Kingdom hall cleaning
by Farmer Jim1 inwhat are your memories of hall cleaning?.
i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.
the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.

Are the halls of the Kingdom filling up, are they the same as before the pandemic or are they emptying?
by LaFrancia ini open a new topic, to find out how it's going in your area.
from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.
no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.

We drive by a KH every day, with 4 congregations meeting there. We make a guess-estimate of the attendance, lower for small congregations, highest Sunday morning, so can get off for the fun sooner. Those on Saturdays to be less well attended. Not quite up to pre-covid.
